    Hey STR,

I’m recruiting members for our mountain bike race team. It’s primarily a local shop sponsored team (Coates Cyclery) with a few other sponsors. If you already have a loyalty towards another shop, please stay with them. I’m not trying to sway anyone from another shop; No no no, don’t want to that.

This is basically a grass roots team without a whole lot of sponsorship just yet. Membership is open to anyone. The dues on the enrollment form actually cover the cost of the team kit, but it’s at dealer cost. We hope to garner more sponsorship next year that will cover the cost of the kit.

If you have never raced and have been thinking about it, joining a team is a great way to get started. If you’re already racing, you can enjoy the benefits of team camaraderie, team training rides, bike/race workshops, shop discounts, and some race entry compensation (I don’t know yet how much we’ll be able to comp).

For more info go to coatesmtbteam.com or PM me.

Mark, Dean and Dustin are a great bunch of guys that I've raced with over the past couple of years. One of the secrets to being fast is training with these guys! Works for me.

I am actually training for racing, but I am doing the 12 hours of temecula series with 2 of my buddies, maybe if your team is doing the series i will side with you guys if you are going to be competetive. The guys I do it do it just for fun and my lap times are quite a bit faster than theirs. They are holding me back.

Chris, you'd be a good fit here. Mark, can teach you a lot.

I think maybe the guys I'm riding with are holding me back, too. Mike makes me pull all the time now.
