I'm in complete agreement. Regardless of the numbers or sorties this can be a great ride as long as everyone demonstrates some good manners and a little common sense. I realize that this is a huge group for this trail, I also realize that we are all STR peeps which means we take the STR reputation with us and we are responsible for keeping it intact. Sorry for sounding so preachy Mott ok game on  I thought we were the slowpoke group.....
I think I'm IN! OK, I should be able to make this, but I've got a couple of questions; If I get off of work in Irvine by 6am, does that give me time to get to the meeting place in time? (I'll just take my riding gear and bike to work with me if I need to.) Denmother, (or any other OC rider's) do you guy's want to meet at The Path and carpool? My Escape can carry four riders, and bikes comfortably.
Mott's got it! We all have to realize that when we come railin' down the trail... that there's a mellowed out cat hiking UP the trail to find his center or something. Cool with me. Let's not blow HIS high... I respect that. Be super cool to the folks you meet on the way down! It'll be good for US as a group! STR has a rep to uphold!
Parking This parking lot is probably going to be pretty busy with other riders climbing up from there as it always is. Due to the large turn out there will probably be limited parking for us. There is a side street on the right just before the parking lot if you are coming from the freeway. There is usually more parking there. I will be driving a grey Pathfinder with a Homer..oops I meant Turner DHR on the back with a Homer. Dang #-o did it again, Turner sticker on the back. Mott

On behalf of Tedroy and myself we would both like to issue a direct apology for our complete, gratuitous and blatant, although tasteful disregard for the rules of posting. I would like to take full responsibility but it was after all Tedroy who started it.
DIRECTIONS: 210 fwy.... exit arroyo/windsor (right).... head north about 1 mile.... parking lot is on the left! May have to find a spot on the street! 20+ riders..... we had better discuss shuttling. Trucks? Bike racks? Everyone driving cars that are not shuttle friendly? My suggestion: tell us if you can shuttle (i.e. how many people and bikes)- or need to be shuttled! The most orderly way to do so, "may" be by posting it in the RSVP section of this thread! We could always figure it all out in the parking lot! Just a thought!
Yeah no kidding! I can't imagine that there's going to be enough trucks to shuttle this thing. I have a suggestion that may not be well-received. Instead of doing a shuttle run, why don't we do this: start at JPL/Windsor, ride over to the paved access road climb that takes you up to the beginning of Sunset. Then down Sunset, then on that fast swooping connector to the campground thing, then back up over to and down El Prieto? That can take close to 3 hours with regroups, and is a great ride too! We'd miss all the Mt. Lowe stuff of course, but maybe save that for a different time? Just a though...
If everyone would Re-RSVP... ... with their vehicle capacity (how many bikes, how many people) we may be able to figure this out ahead of time and save a lot of parking lot jabber. Just a thought. Where's General George Patton when we need him? OK, I know that ain't gonna happen...
