To be honest, I was BARELY out of view- 5 feet behind Pato's back tire. The trail became very narrow at the exact same spot one entered a mini-rock garden! Absolutely nowhere to dab. I was the safety net (so to speak). Who spotted for me? NO ONE!!!! The reason: My bike came (standard) with IH's patented self-tracking feature. EDIT: THANKS TEDROY- JUST SAW YOUR PIC!!!! :bang: The "spot area" was 3 feet to my left! With regard to the pic, I was not on flat ground. The pic flattened the terrain. I was actually 3-4 feet below the trail.... nice drop off below my feet! Hope that helps people to better understand the trail!
Props to you Dino! That was not a good spot to have a lapse of concentration. You are a brave man to be standing there. Not sure how much good it would have done either of you if someone did fall at that spot though. Looked like we would have been rescuing two people instead of one. Thanks for watching out for us. If I fell, I'd hate to think that I took out another one of my fellow riders with me.
Here's the route we took sans-El Prieto. I took the early shuttle and our guide had to get home so we took the shortcut through a fire road and down through the streets. Courtesy of Chuck's (aka Happy_Gilmore) GPS. google earth rocks.
To give a little scale as to where Dino is standing. Check out the road to his right near the top of the pic. Thank God he can fly or I would have been a little worried.
