I don't follow it that close. Even if you go follow close they are sneaky and slip these changes in with other bills.

All you had to do was ask, I would have told you to leave the bike at home. :)I am ready for Chiquito if you are?

Unfortunately I rode up to the notch and had a talk with one of the lift operators who told me that forest service made them take all the hooks off their chairs. So no more rides up the lift. However I did see two people riding down the fire road on full DH rigs so not sure how they got up.

The fire road up to the notch isn't a bad climb, and there are plenty of spots with shade to rest, if needed. I'm still interested in checking out more of this area, such as the lower peaks to the south/south-east, as well as Bear/Village Trail someday.

Here is a vid of my ride with DFT and friends a while back

It was a blast! Coming down is fine, so long as you aren't averse to buckthorn. It is a bit more like skiing though with the loose shale and steepness. I'd ride it again.

2:05 - "Not so bad.":lol::lol: You guys must be in great shape.

Hey imp -
Safe to assume that's Bear Trail?
Did you guys ride up that way too?
How much/what % of it was rideable going up?

It looks like I could handle that descent (at least most of it, from what I can tell form the vid).

Thanks for sharing - I'm more curious now.

Up, Devils Backbone down Bear Canyon. Take the lift to notch to save your legs.
