My brother is healing up really well. Looks like his glasses did alot of the cutting injuries on his face. This has made me look at my equipment and I will make sure I have full framed lenses in all my glasses and going to a burlier helmet like the T.H.E. F14. Thanks again for the support.

He is healing really well. Looks like he is going to keep all of his teeth and the scare on the face is healing up nice. He pulled out some nerves from his cheek and it is just time to see how they do. Right now it is almost like he had a stroke and he has no feeling in his lips or right cheek. Alex purchased the Speshy Deviant helmet and is going to wear the full face for a while now. Still no riding just a little bit in the house on the rollers. He is looking forward to getting back on the bike but waiting till he is good and ready.

Thank you for the concern but all things concidered Alex is doing great.

    Dear Alex,

Although I do not know you, I certainly am aware of the heinous mishap that ocurred during a wonderful birthday celebration.

Quite a loop to undertake for an evening ride and how grand it must have been to be gathered at the motorway prior to dropping in,considering the effort required to get there;much celebration in my book.:)

I sure pray and wish you the most optimal recovery and admire your steeley grit my fellow rider.

    God bless you,

    Steve

    To All:
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! I am recovering and healing.
Went for my 1st ride since the accident this past weekend and it felt good to be riding again. For now I am wearing a Specialized Deviant II Full Face Helmet and it feels nice and secure. I have also changed my eye protection to Oakley's Jawbone as they offer better protection.

To my brother and the guys that rode with me that night. THANK YOU!! All of you were great in making sure that I was taken care of. I could not ask for a better crew to ride with and look forward to riding together again! And Marlin I defiantly want to ride with someone that carries Tampons with them!! By the way That was a funny and something I will never forget!
I need to get a lot of riding in if I am going to be ready for the Traverse.

I've completed an entire descent forgetting to unlock suspension, forgetting to uncompress suspension and lastly...... with my $170 Oakleys on my helmet.

Oddly, I almost always have personal bests when I make this type of mistake. Odd. Like me :drunk:

Wow ... sorry to hear!! Great reactions!

Stories like this reinforce my recent decision to wear my FF even on the "easy" rides .... the consequences are just too high and its pretty easy to just take the thing off when climbing.
