Yeah hhaha they shuttle to the surrounding trails too I think. Ive yet to use a shuttle service. I was thinking of using the shuttle service for Mt Wilson this weekend. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
It's not gnarly but MTT is where I flew over the edge about 10-12' down. It was pretty fun getting airborne.... Von: nice vid BTW!! And Mikey is overreacting (lol); the hikers seemed cool w the speed your friend past them - that's the beauty of a bell.
- Rox you fell down the side!?! Thats nuts. Your crazy. Hah - Jim the trail? Its in Glendora. Take the Glendora Mtn Rd up . The trail head is at the first hairpin after Big Dalton Canyon Rd.
Rox, same thing happened to me 2-3 years ago. Back tire slipped on a rock and turned me down a washout. Landed about 10ft. down and holding on to my bike. I had to wait for a rider to pass by and call out to him. First thing I did hand up to him was my bike!!! Glad to hear you were not hurt. -Lloyd
Shuttling MTT does not make sense to me but whatever gets people out to ride...I will just find other places to ride. I hope at least the shuttle companies are caring for the trail.
Looks like fun and it's close to home. The population density seems about the same as the Loop, though. I'm going to check this out mid-week. Thanks.
That's a concern of mine too Dean. It would be a shame to see this trail degrade from abuse/overuse. It's such a nice climb I don't understand why anyone would shuttle it.
i thought GMR was/is a freeride trail with big jumps? is that still there? if i wanted to climb up and explore, what is the least effort, climb up the trail or up the road?
I know of the trail that you are talking about. That is the the other side. Where Im not sure. Perhaps some one thats more familiar with this trail can chime in
MTT is in great shape. If anything, the added traffic brought by the shuttle service has packed the trail down solid. As mentioned previously it's not that gnarly for people to be locking their brakes and skidding all over the place.
Yeah, I was trying to keep up w some fast friends. Towards the bottom, fatigue set in. At a washout, I looked to enjoy the view but my front tire followed my eyes...doh! Luckily, Lloyd, there was plenty of mustard weed to snag my bike. I fell farther than my bike. Once I got my bearings, I would chuck my bike up a few feet then hike up. One of my friends passed, noticed me, stopped and said: Rox, you're not suppose to be down there. At least you're all smiles, that's a good sign you're OK. Thanks Keith (WS) for retrieving me and my bike.
She actually had her dog off leash which is a no no on a trail like that, especially when she had a concerned look like she wasn't sure how the dog would react to bikes. I slowed practically to a stop, the others moved aside as she gained control of her dog, but hey..you're right I should have dismounted my bike while she got control of her dog and let her walk by instead of "forcing three hikers (two with pets) to move out of my way" . Von was nice enough to post a ride here and you wanna nitpick about stupid shit, to me that is a the definition of an asshole...especially how you didn't say not one good thing about the video. The hikers were very friendly...as were we, smiles were exchanged and we were on our way. Don't make assumptions butt munch.
Uh oh here we go. .... It was just a big misunderstanding thats all. Everyone meant well. Lizard is a seasoned rider. He is the nicest fella you can meet. He would never put his enjoyment for riding before the safety of others. Mike meant well and just wanted to make sure we were more careful. Videos can be deceiving! Everyone meant well.
