Yesterday, my buddies and I rode the Monroe Truck Trail. This was my second time riding this trail. It is a super fun single track that is around 6 miles one way. Over the course of 6 miles you descend about 2100 ft (garmin reading). Stravas readings should be labeled as +/- 100ft. Between the three of us we had three different elevation readings on Strava. The trail was dry at parts but recent moisture has probably packed it down a wee bit. Not exactly white knuckle decent but still heaps of fun! We rode out there on New Years Day. Fun ride....nice climb. Took Mystic down at the bottom, again fun....but kinda short.
Von - seen you guys yesterday , Jeff and Eric were with me ... I was the guy with the donuts on Xavier's shuttle service. yesterday was an epic day !
Monroe is 7-1/4 miles, Mystic is ok but it does shorten the ride by at least a mile. I prefer going through the creek bed rather than Mystic as it is more my style of riding. If you're doing multiple runs try coasting through the creek bed, or down the whole trail. You'll need to use a lot of body english to make it through.- Lloyd
Nice Bike- I always liked that model.. I must of been the slowest guy yesterday. was attempting to dial in a kona with squirrelly suspension.
Nice video, thanks for sharing. looks like a fun descent. One positive thing about losing the "Thanks" button, is that we now have to post a comment rather than just hitting a button. Which means we have to interact more.
Thanks guys! mtbkrazy - It sure was an awesome day of riding! skungjae - Yep they have shuttle service for the Monroe trail . So ....who had the 29er that couldn't fit on the shuttle ?
It definitely felt more like 7 1/4 miles! I haven't been down Mystic. Ill youtube that so I can hit it next time.
Nice trail to pedal up (if you don't have a cold) and even better on the descent. Mystic can be challenging; it bit me a couple days ago! Riding down through the canyon is very tempting
