Yep, all the carbon is being replaced with iron. Should be nice. And yes, your blinged out bike hauler counts. We should put spinners on it. :D

Yeh, wouldn't want any of that easily fatigued aluminum stuff. ;) Just don't bring another bike, unless you're planning to hold it in your lap for 700 mi.

I run Nevegals on my Yeti--2.1 rear and 2.35 front. I run dual 2.5 Nevegals on my Haro for Porcupine Rim. They hook up great--can't go wrong.

I use Specialized Fast Traks, less rolling resistance, bad in the mud. 2.0 wide.

I am running Nevegals 2.35 in front right now in the sticky version. I called Poison Spider Bikes in Utah yesterday to see what they run and they said run something wide like a WTB Motoraptor or Nevegal so I'm good, just wanted to see if there was some super dooper Moab tread that everyone was using.

    Thank's everyone John

Well, we are just a little over 2 weeks out!!! Here's some stuff I found on YouTube to get the juices flowing a bit. Some of the editing is so-so and I'm not endorsing the music necessarily, but they show where we will be riding pretty good. It is funny though--some of the people in the Porcupine Rim vid seem pretty hesitant to let their suspension do the work for them, but I digress. Enjoy:

Thanks for the videos Doug.... just what I needed to make it thru the afternoon.

Looking good for this weekend - forecast says temps in the mid to high 80's on Saturday! (So Sunday's ride should be hot!)

Here's a re-posting of some info I shared awhile back concerning what to bring and what to expect. Feel free to PM me with any other questions. We are 10 days out my friends!!!:bang::beer:

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

What I have figured out/found out from my previous trips:

Food: Don't bring any except for maybe Clif Bars/Energy Gels/Energy drink mixes/etc. The prices on the energy foods at the bike shops is priced high, so I do bring my own as far as that goes. There are 2 grocery stores in Moab with good prices. It's easier to buy what you want/need there than to pack it and lug it 12 hours to Utah. I have a large cooler I plan on bringing to stock a few things. It can hold a lot, but not enough for everyone, so you may want to bring your own.

Water: There is a camping supply store right next to our campground that has filtered drinking water for FREE. They have a fill area and you can take as much as you want any time you want. I bring a 5 gallon water cooler and I fill it up daily.

Spare parts: There are about 398 bike shops in Moab, so I would only worry about bringing parts that are specific to your bike, like spare der. hangers.

Clothes: We will be riding twice a day, so I plan on bringing 2 changes of riding clothes per day. There are pay laundry facilities at our campground so you can do laundry if need be. I own a ton of riding clothes and just don't want to have to do laundry.

Bedding/Linens: Bring your own. Our cabins DO NOT come with bedding or towels/linens. I just bring a sleeping bag to put on top of the mattress to make things easier. The showers/bathrooms are right behind the cabins, but are in a separate building, so bring a robe/sandals/etc to walk to and from. Bring your own.

    Miscellaneous:
--Bring a lawn chair/camping chair. The cabins have screened in porches and the provided chairs suck. After a long day of riding, you will want a comfy chair to chill in when we are all sitting around socializing, BS'ing and recovering for the next day's riding.
--Bring a laptop if you wish. The campground has a wireless internet connection.
--Swim trunks: the campground has a pool.
--Clothes: the vibe in town is casual at the restaurants, so shorts and T-Shirts is fine. It will be warm during the day but may get cool at night. Bring a light jacket or sweatshirt.
--Money$$$: several of us plan on eating just about every meal out. Plus souvenirs, groceries, etc. start to add up so plan accordingly.
--Camp Stove/Griddle/pots and pans/dishes: I have brought a camp stove and griddle every year prior. I DO NOT plan on bringing one again, as I don't want to have to mess with it. Dishes are also a pain to wash. Everything I use will be disposable. Bring your own if you wish.
