I believe it is time for these "contests" to be put to an end. Anything that values a person's physical apperance so much seems petty and vain. Also, the talent portions of the "competitions" are pathetic as well. I feel for people who have nothing more going for them than the random genetic combination which graced them with "beauty" by somebodies standards. IMO, this is a beautiful woman...2 time Nobel Award winner. Can you guess who she is? I'll give you a hint...most of us have benefitted from her discoveries after breaking a bone while riding.

now that you brought it up...why don't top scientists (and wizards) make the same $ as sports stars? Are Manny's contributions to the world greater than Curie's?:?:

Just in time for summer! The Nobel Prize Winners Ladies Calendar. Should sell like hot cakes. Hahaha.

Dubl XL your point is very well taken. I can see how a contest almost entirely based on superficial looks and talents is terribly shallow. The whole pageant industry seems a bit creepy. Anyone see "Little Miss Sunshine"? But hey, if you're a girl who has got looks and charm and you can use that to help further your career or life. Who am I stop you?

True, and I know this is a stretch, and how about the people that have been genetically blessed to have larger lungs, longer muscles, or able to flush lactic acid faster. Should we reward them because of their innate ability?

Inequity exists in the world. Right, wrong, indifferent...it's just the way it is. Getting rid of competitions like this aren't going to do anything about that.

    And she's still hot.

I'd do her (but I'm almost certain the feeling isn't mutual). Her girls are even real. Rare thing now-a-days!

actually, the contest paid for her "double lattes".

her faux beauty is only exceeded by her faux intellect...
