A reminder that our lives can change in an instant. Hoping that Matt & Robin find strength and support for what lies ahead, and that she makes a full recovery.

I'm prayin' they have some good health insurance.....

.....'cause in this "Market-Driven" healthcare culture of ours, if they don't they are so screwed.

Not idle speculation here, either. I'm on mtb-related fracture #17, and if it were not for a PPO style health care policy, I would be ridin my bike to collect cans, instead of ridin' trails......

When I hear about this kind of accidents and even I don't know the person involved I get a terrible feeling like it happen to a family member and fellow mountain biker, our thought are with her and her loved once.

That really sucks. It's one thing if someone gets seriously hurt flinging themselves off 30' drops, but something else entirely when it's just a bad accident. Thoughts and prayers for Robin and family.

Wow, talk about devastating. Reading the story it is obvious that cycling is a huge part of their lives. Now all of that has changed drastically. I hope she defeats the odds and walks again, but removing vertebras sounds pretty rough.

My prayers are with Robin and Matt!

Unfortunatley a few of us on this board know far to much about spinal cord injuries.

Please let me know if i can do any (financially or otherwise) to assist

We were discussing reactions to trauma (DNR) over dinner. My son brought up a study that nine months after trauma (paralysis) most patients were back to their normal "happy" selves.
