This is one of my favorite places to ride the ss, but if I'm going up Potato I don't want to walk, so I'll probably bring the gearie. Then again, I could just skip Potato and bring the ss.

I need guidance.Dean, my old wise friend, what do I do? I'm so confused!

Looks like i'll be in arizona, with 8 mini tractors, building a motocross track/jumps in my friends backyard :bang:
Its funny how all my friends are older, and married with kids for the most part.

I'm wondering if the "A" group will divide up at the top of Marshall. I told Gene I was willing to lead this group, but it sounds like a lot of people want to do Potato, which I can easily pass on. I was thinking over to Webb, down the easier ridge, back up Thompson Creek, up Burbank, then down Marshall. What do you think Mike?

    Ride time?

I really want to show up, but have to be at work in Adelanto by 1:30 pm. Does anyone have any idea how long the group A and group B rides are respectively, so I can judge accordingly?

BTW, I kept up with most of the guys fairly well through Chino Hills with RockintheCasbah and Sycamore Canyon with OsmarandSara, so I think I am in decent riding shape. I hope to keep up here.

I would guess that you could be done by noon. If not, it'd be pretty easy to find your way back to the parking lot if you needed to leave the group early.

I guess it all depends which group you're riding with. The "B" group is the main group with the "A" group doing extra credit. I'll let some of the locals answer the miles.

Jason, what if we kept Potato in it and then on the way back we hit Webb, then come back up Burbank, then back down Marshall.

I was thinking maybe the samething for the B group less the Potato climb???

"C" could just go up to CWP (right turn) go around the corner there and then descend back down from there, they'd be skipping Webb and the climb back thru Thomson Creek and up Burbank.

But if you're leading it, you're more then welcome to determine the route you want to take. I was just thinking it would be a short ride without the Potato climb, but it's not that big of a deal as it's just a steep climb with a little singletrack spur on the way down.

    Your call.

Oh yeah folks, Webb has some technical riding, but again it's somewhat short.

You know me, I'll just be happy to be on the bike! I guess we can take a vote the morning of, looks like there are plenty of experienced Marshall Cyn. junkies to lead the efforts.

Hey Gene, Are the trails suitable to bring Adam on, i.e. wide enough for his trailer?

As I remember, you can stay on the main trail which is fireroad. I'd PM denmother, jfromlv, Pain Freak or CC to be sure. I've only been thgere once and we did end up taking some singletracks with stream crossings.
