You did what you can. This time I think you should step aside and let Col. Hannibal lead the A team.

Don't worry you can hang with those New to the SS. I found out 2 weeks ago that just cause you're kinda fast on gears doesn't mean a [Blank] thing on a SS 8-[

I'm still debating, I don't know which bike to bring - my geared or my SS??? I've never been there to Marshall Canyon, and kinda new to SS riding.

Go with the SS, It'll be tough, but with the regroups and all, it'll be worth the challenge.

I just uploaded a ton a pics from 2 weeks ago maybe they can help you decide.

Ain't nothing too tough about Marshall. You can SS the whole thing.

The Claremont Loop is SS-able too. It's just a pretty sustained 2.5 mile climb from the bottom. Just get out of the saddle and grind it out.

If you decide to do Potato, you may be in for a workout, as it's pretty steep at the top.

That is a good point, and a newbie ride is good for me right now, since I am maybe 60% at best. Still trying to make it happen.

Yeah, with this many riders going, I will probably have to leave early, or not wait as much. (I gotta be in Adelanto by 1:00pm) I printed out the B group itenerary posted a couple pages back, but does anyone have turn by turn mileage, in case I do need to split from the group?

I've ridden Marshall Canyon so much that I don't really remember if there are any clearly marked signs that will guide you back to the starting point. I know the trails, but not the trail names. I do remember some signposts here and there.

Anyone wanna bring a sack of flour to mark the trail as they ride? :?:

i'll be there tomorrow trying to do the B route, but i don't know what time as of yet.

marshall canyon itself has yellow signs pointing you onto the trail at certain junctions. After you get out of there i'm not sure

If you roll at a decent pace (no stops), you can do the A Ride in under 2 hours. You'll skip the Claremont Loop portion and just go to the top of Potato and back to Oak Mesa. That'll make the A Ride about 17-18 miles round trip.

    Not sure about the B...
