I've been rained on pretty hard in a couple of spots this evening, and the doppler sure isn't looking great for south OC right now. I gotta believe it's gonna be pretty saturated up there in the morning.

Ha! In Hawaii it would be liquid sunshine; here it was soggy moonlight as it soaked me pretty good trying to get my stuff from the cart into my car at Target an hour ago.

My guess is with the clay content in that area you should get somewhere close to a mile in before you all turn around.

    Have fun.

A MS is mostly decomposed granite...it will be fine tomorrow...I have ridden it in a dead rain and was it was fine...maybe some sog and you will have the brown stripe down your back but you all should be fine.

I am donning the spandex and doing the road thing.

You'll know by the first creek crossing. If that has enough water to get your feet wet, the ones after are usually deeper. These are the ones on the pavement climb. That water is fast moving and no matter how slow you go through it, you're gonna get wet, question is how much?

    Peak Virgins No Longer

conditions were...orgasmic. my feet stayed dry (stuck 'em out on the crossings), weather was perfect, amazing views, great riding mates, etc.

we (xhusker and sherpa/binh) went up to the peak, then added the motorway (in great condition) as a bonus on the way down.

it was an awesome day. that's all i'm gonna say...

(any pictures to the contrary are fakes)

Glad to see it went well for you guys. How were the temps and the wind?

Wish I could have joined you, but I got 32 miles of riding anyway, even if it was paved. Considering how tender my knee has been lately, I think that was probably a better choice right now.

the wind was light--even at the peak--and temps were mellow. i had a short sleeve on all the way to the peak.
