The Pumice is half of the fun. Once you learn to ride it, it's actually kinda fun. It also helps if you are running a super-knobby 2.8" Michelin up front too.

yeah, don't sweat the pumice. everybody told me the same thing before I went, and it was never really a problem. actually, I think I only had one crash that was related to the pumice (dug my wheel in a deep corner at the bottom of velocity).

just get some big knobby tires and go nuts. I'm running nokian gazzaloddis. sick tire

    Did Mammoth enough last year...

Added the Mt Bike Pass this year to my MVP. I only went 3 weekends last season, but that was enough to justify getting the pass this year. Mammoth is great for Mt Biking because is has something from beginners to pros.

Hope to see some you up there!!!

I just called and they said this deal is only available if you have a regular season pass already. So it looks like May 1 is when they're supposed to go on sale but after talking too two people at the season pass office they really don't know either hhhmmmm.

I had a season two years ago and went 6 times it was amazing especially if you ride two days each time you go it pays for itself just going once a month until end of year. Also remember last race of the So Cal series in Mammoth labor day weekend so that will remove some cost for riding before or after the event!

Last week to buy at $150
    1-800-Mammoth

Hmm...weird. Me and a few others bought over the phone, no problem. Maybe they weren't supposed to be selling passes to the non-mvp's yet.
