Confirmed. No gondola. DAMMIT. Shuttle only.

I'm thinking about bailing out. I'm not gonna drive up there for XC riding.

Perhaps a Rock Creek shuttle is in order?

Not to mention you will have to cross country ride ALL the way across the mountain from the main lodge to get to the good stuff. THIS IS BS!!

I'd be satisfied if everything was open except the trails on the top. I expecting for all the trails below McCoy to be open.

Can someone else call and confirm what my ears have heard? This horrible news. I don't wanna believe it.

Its quite a bit of a ways further north, but the network of trails and layout and definitely worth it.

    OK, it's official.
    I'm not going. I'm out!

Drive 300 miles at $4.60 per gallon and not ride the gondola??
    F-that.

I'm thinking about posting a new Mammoth ride for 4th of July weekend. The 4th falls on a friday this year so that will make for a three day weekend. Anyone else interested?

That sounds good too. Provided someone has a truck to haul a bunch of bikes. Or ride Rock Creek backwards and just stay in Bishop instead.

Sheesh, that's cheap, I'm paying $5.10 per gallon for diesel. Bishop is only 255 miles instead, and Rock Creek is maybe 18 -20 miles to the top.

We are still going up since we lose a hotel deposit. I think we'll hit the bike park saturday and do something else sunday.

I'm heading up for the 4th.

Is it just me, or is the snow and snowed out trails not really news? After all, they had to move the NMBS championships last year due to snow, and there have been a few 4th of July weekends where only the lower trails are the only open trails as well.

For those still going up, check with the local bike shops; I've heard that there are great trails OFF of the main mountain (and they're even better than the main ones)

Well after so many people bailing so fast I figured I might as well. I managed to cancel my reservation right at the deadline so no big loss. I'll be in for the July 4th weekend trip.

For those staying in socal I'll be hitting southridge about 8am and ride till about noon. look for the stinky and red frontier at the cul de sac.

It is shocking how Mammoth Mountain is down playing the fact that the gondola's are not running. No posting on there website stating lifts are not operating, No mention of it during a conversation today (until I asked), then they were quick the ramble off long list of xc runs.

It appears money is the motive... and screw the customer who support the Bike park.
