The travel lodge had rooms for $139, but the village throws in lift tickets for like $20

We'll most likely be there at the gondola around 9:30-10am. Look for a couple with 2 Nomads.

Thanks, maybe in the fall we'll hit up Downieville or next year. Mammoth is 400 mi (RT) less than Dville plus I can ride 3 days instead of 2 and be home before 8pm. The deal breaker was Sunday, either pack up earlier and head home or ride and get home around midnight, oh and gas costs.

Hope everyone has a great time on opening weekend. I've been in Mammoth this week and riding daily. Weather and trail conditions are perfect. For those wanting to try some of the trails around town, Mammoth Rock trail is in particularly good shape and lots of fun. Unfortunately, I have to leave on the 21st and can't hit the bike park on this visit. #-o

That's sounds good. I wouldn't mind getting up there early to "aclimate" before the weekend, to a little pain and suffering on the climbs.

Mammoth per the latest phone call to them will be updating their site tonight to let folks know what will be open. The latest is that the top likely wont be but "cats" are on site to move snow if warm weather continues. If warm weather assists who knows...maybe Off the Top will open :?:

So Like I'm Totally bumed and not sure if I wanna go or cancel.

    "
So we just got the official word...
    - Due to snow above the Main Lodge only the lower trails will be open.
    - The following lower mountain trails will be open: Uptown, Downtown, Paper Route, Big Ring, Timber Ridge, Lakes Trails, Juniper, Lower Bullet, Lower Follow Me, Shotgun.
    - The shuttle bus will start running on Saturday every 20-30 minutes from the Village for access back to the Adventure Center from 9:00 to 5:30.
    - With continued melt-off and a bunch of hard work from trail crew we plan on having gondola access to trails from McCoy Station and the Top of the Sierra on July 3.

I just stopped in at the gondy station (on my way to d'ville). Above paper route only uptown/downtown will be open, and will be two-way. Everything below paper route incleding all the eagle side and lower bullit will be open for opening weekend.

    Enjoy!
