Mammoth Kamikaze Games 2013 (Sep 4-8)

Mammoth, IMO, is the best spot for a multi-discipline race weekend (or in the case, race week). Southridge had a race up there a couple of years ago and the cross country course was one of the best I've been on and I assume the DH course is at least as good as anything in Socal. It was also one of the best Super D courses I've done. I think times were in the 10-15 minute range and the course was nearly all downhill.

Hoping when summer rolls around this gains momentum and can get a big turnout.

I love Mammoth and will definetly be there. I think they should add an enduro race.

this looks sick. What is the airbag and kamikaze event?

 

I would assume the Kamikaze Event is the old Kamikaze DH Race.

The airbag is probably a jumping contest using the air cushion for Snowboard tricks.

F.Y.I. the guy who is running/responsible for this event is the one responsible for the very first MTB world championships before the UCI recognized MTB as a formal discipline.

Let's all get on this and help Mammoth get back to the glory days of old.

Looks like a little something for everyone so pretty much practice opens up wednesday and racing saturday!!

 

Anyone know if they are planning to run 16 all summer or just for the enduro?

 

I saw on their Facebook page it's just open for the weekend of the race.

I'm planning on going. Racing XC and Enduro. If it wasn't so pricey I'd probably do a 3rd race too. Just glad to see racing back at Mammoth.
