Mammoth Mountain bike park season pass sale starts 4/1/10. All summer for $169 if you buy before 4/30/10.

Go to the link below and then click the "Activity Passes" tab.

Last year there was no option to buy online before May and you had to phone it in to get the special early bird deal. The phone # is 1-800-Mammoth.

I got one last year and it was money well spent.

iirc it was around 40/day, or like 70 for a 2 day weekend.

I highly recommend the season pass though. half days, little days here and there, a few quick runs when you get up friday, etc. are all really nice. I maybe only rode 7-8 full days, but I did a ton of half days here and there, without caring that I had paid for the whole day.

plus, should there be another race up there this year, you're covered for the weekend to go check out any other trails aside from the race course. and I believe they waived the lift fee for me as well for the race ($10! :bang:)

    edit: found their pricing:

I got screwed out of the MVP deal when I missed a year. If you had an MVP pass last year, you can get in for this year. It looks like the passes are $309 if you're not in the MVP, and I can't justify that much cash. The $169 deal I'd go for.

Can the bike park pass be used for snow boarding since it will not be open even at the end of Apr since there is still sooooo much snow?

I doubt you can use the Bike Park pass for snow sports. I spoke to a lift operator today and she told me the Bike Park will probably open in June. However, this will only be for the bottom. I don't think the top will open till atleast 4th of July (just my opinion). There's only 3 steps to go down from the Gondola station up top.

so, can i buy the bike pass, ride to the top, snowboard down with the bike on the back, and swap when i run out of snow?

in all honesty, i bought the pass last year, and didnt go until all the snow was gone (I think it was just about 4th of july), and I STILL got 6 weekends in without too much trouble.

figure this way, it's 170 for a pass, 70/weekend without. so its 2.5 weekends worth of riding to offset the pass price. figure on going twice, and closing weekend, and you're already saving money. then include the price of any half days you might ride on fridays or mondays should you have time off.

Not yet, but if you are a MVP member, you get a 2 for 1 bike park pass if you renew before April 16th. Still trying to come up with the money to renew my MVP pass.

Sprockethead -- could you let me know where you saw the "2 for 1 before April 16" offer? Thanks.

I just got an email from Mammoth stating that there will be skiing until the 4th of July. Be careful with those presale passes.

Good advice, I have been in Mammoth for my B-Day ride (July 23rd) and some trails where still closed due to snow.

Nice clips. Stoked to see Mammoth! Look at all the WIDE open space! You have a chance of living if you get off line. Out here in NC, if you get out of shape, it's like a pin ball machine. Of course open space means Mammoth speeds too. Pick yer poison.

yeah, but also have to consider that you have traction in NC. I'm pretty sure that in my 6 weekends there last year, I never had 100% traction in a corner

mark, you forgot the OG enciso video!

i wonder where he is...havn't heard from him since the end of the mtb season...

Traction? NC DH trails = roots/rocks/rain. All these trees means a sea of roots. But looking at those videos, I can see its a lot of sand, and loose pulverized granite. Tough tracking. Why do we ride bikes down these hills again?
