Thanks kioti for all your hard work, since you gave the ok to ride the luge, I hit it today and had a fricken blast, it was wetter than I like to ride in, but I have to give back the pivot phoenix this week, yep rode the DH bike on the luge again, I'll be back on the Firebird till my bike comes in, then will be selling the bird.

How do you get the Phoenix to the top - push up or go STT?

Thanks, man, you made my day. :) It must be fun on a DH bike.. I can't even imagine.. way better call than the cross bike I occasionally use.

I think it's a trip riding on the trail with water running down it. It just seems to be oozing out of the hillside. Haven't seen much of a problem from riding it when wet.. it might even keep it from getting rutted.

Anyway, thanks for the post. Makes it worth doing the work.

Yup......must say the berm is now in a much better spot.......rode up past the Luge for the first time since before Christmas.....the trail is pretty rough is some spots.....but I like it. The trail has so much more character than it did 6 months ago.

Hey, "you asked for it, you got it." :) Of course, the first section of the STT could always get bulldozed again.. (or even closed?), but for now it's a recovering singletrack. I truly hope the County does the right thing and obtains a permanent easement, and everyone keeps their heavy equipment off it.

My old bike could use a bit smoother Luge, at least as far as a few brake bumps go, but I like how the mudslides gave the trail some more ups and downs. Got a couple more improvements to make, but otherwise just looking forward to the brush growing back (again).

Yeah, the berm/drain combo didn't really work as planned, and the new position feels right. Sometimes (often?) sustainability needs to take a backseat to fun.

Rode up to Old Camp and down the Luge yesterday. The trails were in great shape. That berm is perfect now. Great job man!

Jim - The new berm is great, two laps yesterday and it felt right both times. Now you can have a little fun with the drop before and carry speed the whole way through. Nice work!:clap::clap:

Rode Luge today for the first time since early January (we didn't make it to Joplin last week :( ), and MAN it flows so much nicer now. It's now flowy to the max. Thanks so much, Jim, for all the work you have done on this trail. It really is the best I've ever seen it (in all 2 years I've been riding  ) And that berm is just sexy.

Working on a video now. I'm totally stoked, got from the flagpole to the stream at the bottom in about 4 minutes.

I agree...just rode it last night and it was a blast. Willing to help out in the future if you need help again, just put out the word.

Forgot to mention, the climb up STT to Luge is really enjoyable now too. The mudslides added just the right amount of technical climbing.

I missed the old Luge where you didn't have to pedal at all, however, the new luge adds a bit more of a challenge.

Great video. Makes me want to go ride it--it's been a week or two. It doesn't look like that when I ride it though...it's much, much slower and I ride a full suspension bike... If I filmed my descent, it would probably look like a hiker filmed it...

It's a sexy berm. (Oh... yeah.)

Nice video, Garrett. Looks like you know how to ride pretty good for only your 2nd year, too. You'll be the next Chris Akrigg in no time. :)
