I'm a new rider, just getting into mountain biking. I have what I'm beginning to find out is probably a cheap bike (Trek 4600). I've spent the last few weekends in the San Gabriel mountains off of Hwy 2 riding. Anyone looking for an additional rider, let me know.
Welcome to not only socaltrailriders but more importantly . . . riding! Don't worry about your 4600. I started out on a Trek 3700 Just ride the piss out of it and get a better bike when your ready for it. Where else do you ride?

if you can ride on friday mornings and dont mind driving to north o.c. let me know. i'm only been riding a couple of years and still learning something new every ride. welcome to mountain biking and have fun. i wouldn't rather do anything else that ride now. dirt is good. RC.
Fridays are a definate possibility, unfortunately I wont know unitl Thursday night. North OC is no problem (I've been driving 50 mi just to ride) Let me know where your going to be.
