Actually - it came as a request from us ladies! A while back we had a guy posting, asking some really personal questions and even came up with a great made up story were we all felt for HER- we ladies banded around him thinking he was a woman. It got very personal and we got burned!! It was violating!!!! It is sad it had to come to this....and actually we ladies decided on how to prevent this from happening in the future.. Sorry if it comes off harsh - but it WAS NOT Craigs idea! Sorry if it has offended people but you can only imagine how us ladies must have felt!
I'm not one to stand up for CalEpic, cause he really bugs me sometimes However, I appreciate his dedication and caution related to matters on this board. Not to mention that he is usually approachable (as are most moderators on here), so you can PM to ask about resolving issues like these. Maybe it's just the internet, but nerdgirl just doesn't sound as though she's had a great deal of positive experiences lately, especially related to mtb. I felt the same frustration when I started, but I can guarantee that in the end, sticking to it and continuing to reach out to others will expand on your appreciation and enjoyment of the sport.
that is between Nerdgirl, Denmo and Craig and none of my business. Although it sure does make for great internet banter don't ya think
yup, just trying to stir up an otherwise boring morning over here! i'll wait to get approved for moderator status now!
Traci, where do I submit pictures of my junk? I'm not sending it to Craig as I fell for his shenanigans and sent him like 10 pics. And that was just to post on STR. I felt so violated but yet, so turned-on. Fool me once, damn you, fool me twice...ahhhhhhhh....uhmmmmmmm...you know! Oh, in regards to trouble makers and attention whores...
I thought they were already plastered online. It seems pics of your non-junk would be news  just kidding, of course
David, I was not actually "vouching" for her as I do not know her, nor have I met her. I was merely asking that she be added to the Dirty Girlz forum and was not aware of the new rule that is required to be added, so it was my mistake for even bringing it up. You guys need to cut Craig some slack. Being a super moderator is not easy and does not make you very many friends. Just wait until I delete one of your posts, then we'll see what you have do say about me. It seems as though everyone's balls grow exponentially when you hide behind your keyboards!!!! Chill out and ride.
Very well-put, Denmo. I'd thank you twice for that, were it possible to do so. Too much whining here lately.
Trust me, you don't want to read everything we talk about. There are certain issues that are specific to women, which men cannot relate to, that can be a bit embarassing to discuss in mixed company. For this reason, and to spare you of the women who do not embarass easily, the women's forum was created.
I am the 'female' mod for the women's forum and I have no way of knowing any more than Craig does as to who's legit and who isn't.
To clear up any confusion, the process for ladies to gain access to the Dirty Girlz forum is this: They need to be recommended by another woman in the forum or someone that is personally known by one of the moderators. This can be done by going on a group ride, social event, etc. Any woman that wants access should just ask. There are plenty of opportunities to meet people. These requests are then sent to Shannon, the Moderator for the Dirty Girlz forum. In theory, the only time I should be involved in the process is when Shannon asks me to update the new person's profile to allow access. And by the way, Gene, and I do not have access to that forum.
