@petex - beautiful bike. I didn't know SC was still making the Blur LT (26"). How are you liking the Float X CTD? I am thinking of getting one. And, I have to ask, do you really ride with the nose of your saddle in that position? Doesn't that kill your arms and hands? I know some climbers like to have the nose down so they don't get anal-raped, but(t) that looks excessive.

Actually they are no longer making the frame.....they discontinued it earlier this year.

However, I think they still have them in the online store.

Thanks, They no longer make this frame, but you can still buy it, I bought mine 1 month ago, SC online store.
I think is the angle of the picture haaha but no I don't ride with the nose to low, I just finish building it today, so tomorrow will be my first day riding it.

    So I guess it's still considered a 2013 hahaha

yeap, I bought it directly from SC online store, bought it Harbor grey but I decided to powder coated satin black

I like your powder coated satin black. I bought one in Harbor Grey too and went with a burly built with all coils on a set of Flow EX.

I had the Path build me up a Solo to replace the TRc I had stolen up in Idyllwild this summer. I had originally really wanted the orange because it's my favorite color, but they're hard to come by so I went Ninja stealth instead. Brian and Neil convinced me to go 1x11 and with the tiny 28 tooth ring up front, I've been able to climb everything just as well as my old setup. I've not noticed spinning out too terribly bad on any downhills. Yet. And the bike is unbelievably quiet!

I was making sure not to spend any more money on this build than I was given by my homeowner's insurance to replace the TRc. But I really wanted to try some carbon rims. Enve's were nowhere even close to being in the budget and i've been following the chinese carbon rim thread on mtbr for a long time so I decided to go for it. They had the wheels to my front door from China in a week. Wow.

I had Larry (Ghisallo here on STR) build them up. He did my last wheelset, too and they've been flawless so he was an obvious choice to build these up as well. Not to mention, Larry's just an all-around great guy and super easy to deal. I can't recommend him enough.

I have nothing at all negative to say about this bike. It's great! I bought the TRc last year because the reviews were so good, the Path gave me a stupid good deal on the frame and also because I was toying with the idea of maybe building it up as a 650b down the road. But the bike got taken away before that could happen. Replacing it with the Solo seemed like a no-brainer. The only thing that ever kinda bummed me out about the TRc was that coming from a 5 Spot, it wasn't always the best climber. It seemed to wallow a bit at times but it was so much more fun than the Turner on the descents that I accepted it. Apparently I wasn't the only person to think that and when I spoke to a guy at Santa Cruz, he told me that they re-valved the shock on the Solo to remedy that. Boy, did they! It climbs leaps and bounds better than the TRc and while the descents are not quiiiiiiiite as plush, it's still an amazingly fun bike and any fault lies with my skill set and not the bike's.

What is it with you SC riders and your extreme nose-down saddles?! Garrett, you're a DHer - I would think you would follow the equally crazy trend of running your saddle pointed straight up if you are a gravity rider. What we need here is some leveling!

Great bike, BTW. Do I see a climb switch on your CCDBa?

Is there something I should know about myself. I enjoy rocking the saddle pointing upwards... But I'm not particularly fond of being poked in that general vicinity.

The saddle is actually fairly level, if you look closely, you'll notice the photo itself is tilted. My nose-down trend used to be much worse and started with my crappy WTB saddle in an attempt to alleviate some nasty effects of pressure points on certain climbs. Now that I have a better saddle (SDG Circuit road saddle believe it or not) it's no longer a problem but I've adapted my climbing technique to a nose-down saddle so I still run it slightly tilted. Thankfully, I'm a much better rider than I am photographer.

Yes that would be a climb switch. Haven't gotten the shock quite dialed yet, since I only got it on Friday and work weekends, but the Climb Switch is super effective. Far superior to the Propedal on the RP23 I was running. Still haven't been able to get the bike to rail the downhills like it did with the PUSH link and RC4 but I have quite a bit of tuning to do. VPP is a tricky linkage to work with.
