where exactly is the "mesa?" i've seen it mentioned in the tuesday night ride posts, but always assumed it was just the intestines up on del mar mesa. is the "mesa" the trail that splits off where rocking horse begins??
Fortunately for us, the dwarf oaks are endangered. It's an intestines-like area to the west of tunnels. We've been starting near the big trees.
"It's an intestines-like area to the west of tunnels. We've been starting near the big trees" Hey Brian, is this area under the gun also?
SD STR, I rode all of PQ last night and it's going to be sad to loose all of the single track on Intestines. The trail is not closed off right now except when your closer to the West End near the viewing the golf course. In this area it's blocked off with the fabric fencing not just the markings of the wooden stakes. I'm sure my next Wednesday this place could be plowed away. Sad to notice,
That suck the big one. Only rode there once and what a fun trail system in the middle of SD. BTW don't these developers know that they are loosing money and can't sell any of the houses? Guess they don't read news paper.
Having worked for a contractor that did a lot of work for Pardee, I can say those guys can be total a-holes. I hope they work with the community on this one.
Rode it this morning - surveyors all over the place, including the mesa right above intestines. Orange fencing sprouting up like wild mustard. On the way out along Carmel Mountain Rd., the ranger was there talking with some of the contractors. She showed us a map of a connector they will build to allow access to Side Hill from what is now the end of Carmel Mountain Road. The plan is to have a graded gravel road running along the outside of the new development, much like what already exists further east. This will allow a connection between Cobbles and Side Hill. Small consolation indeed. Hit these trails this weekend while you still can - they're in great condition, but only for a few more days. Heavy equipment arrives the middle of next week. Pisser.
Went out for the last lunch ride. Pretty crowded around there. There were a lot of riders too. Also a snake, but no picture of it. This is the first trail on the west end. Closed.
dm mesa road there today very sad . some fun trails. our 24 hr team did training rides there . when we were kids we would leave from the house and ride are motos before the houses and mtbs. also would bring the rifles out there for target practice in that larger eucalyptus grove(sp) oh and had a few cash crops out there. lots of good times indeed
who me??? it's a tora. i found it in the marketplace in the middle of the night the sad part of this story is i'm working from home today. that trail is maybe a mile away.
