Most of the time I'm too lazy, so it's just some cereal with fresh fruit. If I get in the car, it's going to be in n out. lol Wendy's has awesome baked potatoes for $.99, by the way. I get those with nothing on them and dump it in their chili (also .99).
whenever I'm stuck in LA county late at night, I will usually end up at either Jerry's Deli in Encino(belgium waffle sundae......), or the original Tommy's burger in Rampart for the food and thrills!
Consider his avatar before following this man's advice on eating! edit: Never mind - I think he made my point in his latest post, above!
but it was cheap! that made me feel better...... :-k therefore moar healthy for my wallet! it's just a quick trip across the valley!
If all else fails Carl's Jr Charbroiled BBQ Chicken, fat 7 gm, protein 34 gm. Leave off the sauce to lessen the sugars.
I'm still pissed they closed the Jerry's in Pasadena. Yeah, maybe not the greatest food, but I could get ANYTHING I wanted at any time of the day or night.
Mine sells unsalted almonds, pecans, and walnuts I usually get my cashews raw from Henry's, as well as pistachio's (and dried banana chips - unsweetened) Then I add Montreal Steak Seasoning to all beef/pork (full of salt). It's all good
This does not sound so much like "late night hunger" as a schedule that makes dinner time later than traditional. My advice is to plan ahead and have what you intend to eat at home waiting. I just bought a three tiered steamer at Bed Bath and beyond on Sunday and have used it three times this week already because it is simple and fast. I can steam Salmon or Halibut on the top tier (put foil around it so it does not drip on your other food) and some fresh veggies on the middle tier with some baby red's on the bottom tier and it is all ready in about 10 minutes with very little prep or cleanup. It is healthier, fast, clean and there are many meal ideas out there.
Roasted chickens from the super markets aren't bad. Just don't eat the whole thing. Really, if you want a snack, go to a supermarket that's open all night and there is plenty to pick from. There's really nothing 'healthy' to eat late at night where you can drive through and get something. Like stated above, eating late isn't as bad as people make it out to be. If you were active prior to that, your body is still burning fuel. If you sat on your ass, then eat at midnight and go to bed....that's probably not the best plan of attack.

I am in the habit of carrying carrots with me for those short breaks. They are crunchy to satisfy my teeth and jaws, full of fiber to fill my tummy, sweet to placate my sweet-tooth. I also like apples, bell peppers, cucumbers, etc. The trick is to get home from class wanting to eat rather than wanting to gorge!
