Laguna coast was open yesterday, some of it was still a little too wet. The rain made some major ruts/changes in the trail. There was still water running down when I got near the top.

I rode LCWP this morning with a friend. We were on Water Tank, Bommer, and Laurel FRs, Missing Link/Fenceline, T&A, etc. There were a few pools of water/mud to go around on the FRs. Other than that the trails were nice: tacky, and the vegetation is nice and green from all the rain.

Be forwarned though: LOTS of ticks on the brushier trails. Also, there are some rainwater ruts, and anything rocky is particularly chunky, since the rain has washed away all of the loose dirt.

I went there yesterday and spent an hour cleaning my bike afterwards.

    Really? :?:

We rode for over 3 hrs, about half fireroad and half singletrack. See my bike below from right after the ride...

thanks for the report, art. but i'm sure you typed missing link/fenceline by mistake since el moro is still closed. :?:

about the mud- some of the fireroads in the canyons, like laurel, can be pretty mucky even when the rest of the trails are buff.

Pretty bike but you might want to have a word with your gardener. Those weeds in the walkway are unsightly.

Be careful with the ticks. I rode LCWP Saturday and pulled a tick off of me and then my buddy pulled off 2 ticks while on the trail and then 2 when he got home.

Yea I went out for a ride there yesterday it was great because the park was empty but the roads are still a little wet and very very rutty. I spotted some really cool what I think are Mountain Lion tracks around Laguna ridge and decided to ride down LR anyway. The trail was in bad shape but it was a blast! I got a little on film but its to embarrassing to show..

we hiked the willow-laurel canyon loop yesterday. it was really pretty, with lots of flowers blooming, especially in laurel canyon. but it smelled like (spicy) irish spring. weird...and the falls were dry.

btw- i'm leading a beginner ride from ridge park sunday morning. i'll post it later.

Is that one of those MOTIV bikes? They kick serious butt if you upgrade the tires, wheels, fork, stem, bars, components, brakes, seat, seat post, and frame.

It sure is a good looker too.

^ harsh and uncalled for....some people ride what they can afford and have a fun time doing so - and he probably rides so much, he doesn't have time for gardening.

    My kinda guy ;)

Thanks. The NIX Center and Willow park entrances are open. I spoke to Sheila, a volunteer there at NIX.

Both Aliso and Laguna Coast are open - I just called. I wish that they would post something on their website the day after a light rain confirming that they are open. Or, can I assume that they are open if their website does not state that they are closed due to the rain? I feel bad calling and bugging before each ride.
