Mark your calendars. Only 3 races, South Hills Park in Glendora, Sunday's only. (July 7th) (July 21st) (August 4th) Website is not fully updated. Once it's fully up to date, I will send a link. There will be a 3 pack deal. Talk to you all soon. Omar
Are all the races at south hills park or will we be going to bonelli and mt sac also? Thanks for posting Omar.
Knobby Time is only at South Hills Pk. No Bonelli for "Knobby Time" this year. The other venues will come in the fall for the Triple Crown Series in the fall.
I have been itching to get into one of these races. However I am un sure what level I should partake in. Am I better slotted in Beginner or Sport. Any tips? I know I should join a local bike club but I like to do my own thing sometimes... Would appreciate any helps. Cheers
If you've never raced before, you should enter as "beginner". It's a 3 race series and you can get a good feel of what it's like to race mountain bikes.
That was a good race...not alot of compititors but a lot of racing...I was handing out water at the top of the asphalt climb, might race #2 after seeing all these young guns out there. This course is small but man does it packs a wallop on the climbing aspects of racing with some nice technical downhill section. Beginners did 3 laps 4 for everyone else and 5 for expert and pros. thats 2200ft of climing in 3 laps on a 3 mile course. Talk about maning up !!
Appreciate your time on the course. I passed on the water the first lap, but it started to get hot and I was running low so I took water from there on...it was nice and cold too. The climbing is deceptive, especially the asphalt climb...steeper than it looks I think. Fun course with quite a bit packed into that little loop. Wondering if the low numbers were due to it being a Holiday week?:-k
Ya the low numbers its hard to say...we'll see at round 2 what kind of turn out we get....time to get ready for the Triple Crown series and these races will be good course to get the body tuned for that.
Hey Omar! Regarding the 6 hr endurance on Sept 14 @bonelli. What is the course for the race? Is it the one on the website under Bonelli Park course that is about 3.2 miles
Tentative 6 hr Bonelli course: http://www.geoladders.com/show_route.php?route=66555 I will be starting a different thread on this event soon.
the person that leases the horse back riding area near the east enterance off Via Verde gets to stop the races from going near the stables. however, there was an Xterra event earlier this year that went thru the upper part of the stables. we would also need another sheriff there because it would be another road crossing. sheriffs are about $85 and hour. you'd be surrprised how many hicups we get while pulling permits.
