What an awful display of first responders!!!!! (1st) Flipping him over with out stabalizing the neck. (2nd) Removing the helmet. (3rd) Running with him on the spine board. There is still no proof that it would have made a difference. But that was still unacceptable!!!! My prayers go out to his family. RIP.

    Very sad indeed.

Take care out on those trails, brother and sisters, what we do is only marginally safer.

Damn... that was a gnarly crash! Judging by the magnitude of his body's impact, I doubt if a Leatt brace would have made any difference. If he hit so hard that he eventually died of brain injury -even with a moto helmet on- it's safe to say that his time was up. At least he died doing something he enjoyed.

    Rest in peace, Jeremy.

Thats just terrible. I heard the news on the radio while driving. Such a young man. I don't think I'll see the clip. It'll creep me out big time.

Wow it's so odd I watched a video of the whole contest last night and thought wow how could anyone live through that.

Kind of feel bad for thinking it now.

My best to the friends & family

It is a sad day when someone so young is taken from us. I pray he is in God's glory and grace. May God be with his family. Yesterday is gone, Tomarrow isn't promissed to us, so live for today and be hopefull for tomarrow.

    Metal Mulisha rider down...

Jeremy Lusk a frestyle motocross rider died on Monday from injuries sustained in a stunt he was performing which was his signature. Jeremy and other Metal Mulisha riders burned some trails into the earth and it is there I ride. Some of us perform gap jumps and can cans as well as other stunts on our mountain bikes, he was no different, it is just that he was on a motorcyle. R.I.P jEREMY LUSK...

Censorship FTL...don't wanna see it, don't click on it. It's that easy.

Even though it's sad and disturbing, it's interesting from a biological and physiological point of view. I would think landing like that from only 8 feet could cause paralysis, let alone ~20 feet with momentum behind it. Poor guy.

I'm surprised more of these guys don't die each year...some of those tricks are just tempting fate if you ask me.

What happened to him could happen to any of us. Watch the video and see what not to do. Take a first aid first responder course and help someone or maybe even yourself. Its just a matter of time till something happens in front of you.

It just sucks man. I feel for his family and friends. There is a pretty cool tribute video some guys put together. I think you can find it on his blog. I stumbled on it through Yahoo.

Is it just me or should the video of a fatality be removed from this thread? I am sickened by it. Warning or not it's just in serious poor taste.

This was a slap-in-the-face reminder that we're all mortal.

I read an article about him just last week. He seemed like a cool guy, well-grounded, and with a strong work ethic. My impression was that he was not just a talented rider, but a great human being as well.

    Godspeed, Jeremy.

Mott, I completely agree with you. It's in extreme poor taste to exploit someone's tragic death. I also said my peace in an earlier post and that's all we can do. Obviously, not everyone feels the same way or agrees. Damn shame!

WAAAAAA, Come home with your shield, or on it!!

Faces of Death is Exploitation, this is a memorial plus it saves others from having to google it. We should all be so lucky to die doing what we love, some friends of mine who survived wish they could have gone so quickly instead of smothering out like a candles flame.
