Hi Fred.. I really hope I can make this one! Friday nights sound pretty good, with dinner afterwards or something. If not, for weeknights - Mondays and Wednesdays. Tuesdays and Thursdays are bad....

Thanks again so much. There is a lot I need to learn - pretty much everything aside from changing a tire/tube!

Sounds like you can help instruct as well! People of all mechanical skill levels attend these events. There are still some people who could use some help removing and reinstalling tires and tubes. And having a woman instruct how to do this is even better. With so many people there, everyone learns.

Me too. I can try to make an exception for a weeknight, but this grandpa tries to go to bed early whenever possible.

okay. lemme know a date. if I'm not blown out from some fontana race, I should be good to go. also 31/1 is bad for me.

if all else fails, I may show up and borrow some of mike's quarter pipes :)

oh, and I would like to lower my argyle to 80mm too. might as well if we're doing all sorts of other stuff.

Yea I'm in. Now that the where is figured out just post when. I've got a couple bikes, bike stand and tools to bring to the party if needed. Glad I caught this post just what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance to all those coordinating and teaching it.

I'm a bit rusty - I haven't turned a wrench in years. I'd love to have a refresher and learn about the newer components (Last time I worked on a bike, suspensions weren't around yet and I'd never heard of disc brakes - and I have both on my Giant) and how to maintain them.

Whatever night - I'm taking a class at GWCC, but it's online, so it shouldn't be a problem. Wife would like to come, too, I"m sure.

I can go over bleeding ON the front/rear brake. Does that count as teaching?

Don't know how I missed this but count me in. I'll bring some tools and wield what meager knowledge I have like a blind man with a big stick. Should be fun.

I would be down to teach most of the basic-to-intermediate stuff about bike maintenance. I can build/repair a bike but I've never done a fork rebuild (aside from replacing spring assemblies and replacing oil) or bled brakes. I don't officially wrench at my shop but I help out a lot and know most of the stuff.

Also, and not to be a shameless plugger/ thread derailer, but we're starting monday bike maintenance clinics at Jax Irvine on mondays after closing (~7PM). I will probably be sticking around to help out, but if I'm not there the other guys are pretty good instructors. Our shop is trying to get a few things going like these clinics, spin sessions, and mountain bike rides, so if you are interested shoot me a PM. As I said, I don't wanna derail and I'd be happy to lend a hand at other clinics if needed, so lemme know!!! Its always nice when you can teach someone something new, and even better when you learn something from a more experienced wrench.

Sounds awesome. I need to learn BB stuff, but I can help anyone with bleeding brakes and other misc. things. I'd like to meet some STR people. We live in Idyllwild though so it would have to be a weekend for us for sure.

I should be able to attend this one. Sat nights are best for me.

I will try to bring in some tools that will make the fork service easier.

For those wanting suspension service done: Please ensure that you purchase the fork or rear shock rebuild kit from fox or marz or manipoo or magura or RS ahead of time. That way you have the seals, wipers, etc that will be replaced during the service

For those of you wishing to learn brake bleeds: please make sure you have your own bleed kit or call Fullerton Bikes and ensure that they have the bleed kit you will need. Thanks

Weeknights are tough - traffic wise for the 'south OC' but will make the trip, can do any night but Wednesday - PLEASE pick a night (after the 16th - I'm out of town before) and I will rearrange, shift schedules, make deals and negotiate heavily with the family to make this happen...

    Need a date - A poll maybe?

I've never been to a clinic like this before. Does everyone bring their bike? If 20-30 people show up with their bike it would seem to me that space would be tight? I would like some pointers on adjusting F/R derailleurs, correctly dialing in suspension, and using Stans.#-o

I would be down for a basic suspension setup class, fork rebuild class, or general overall maintenance class.
