Not too many group rides for me this year as riding with a worn out knee keeps me from being able to ride more than a snails pace uphill. Had lots of great rides with my husband and teamates!

I had lots of great rides, but because I worked weekends for the most part and have weekdays off, I did a lot more solo rides in 2012 than in any other year. Not too many group shots, but a couple here and there. I'll share some of the more scenic pics I took in 2012 which made the rides I did very memorable.

Jan: We had just brushed the entire trail of Los Pinos the week before. No better time than to ride it as you can see the trail running along the ridgeline in this pic.

A Tip Of The Trip Iceberg For Me!

    Stellar trips this year!
Mammoth for the first time in 15 years I'll bet. There were none of the features there last time I went. At least not like this.
Can't remember the name of the guy doing the jump. He's not STR but it's a nice shot.

My buddy Kim, she'll try anything, and she's usually pretty damn 'on'. This time though..owch! A tweaked shoulder from this limited her riding for a couple months after this.

Crested Butte and Thunder Mountain too.
Good year for riding. Not for much else though.
I insist next year be better!

    I had a pretty wild year even before it got started. Injuries were;

Fractured knee cap at Noble followed
    Broken elbow at Lake Hodges
Dislocated shoulder/blown disk in my neck at Anderson Truck Trail.

I blame my new bike pushing me harder and farther than I knew I could go. Late 2011 I switched from this

    To this

Multiple trips to Noble were the norm and then we started to step things up. Mammoth

    Dville

    Santa Cruz

    Palm Canyon

    El Prieto

And a lot of new local dirt

It seemed like everywhere I went there were multiple HD's around

Probably because I get paid to sell expensive things and I talked all of my friends into them. In total seven of my ridding buddies bought them this year! A few in the garage

In addition I found Strava and became totally hooked. Say what you will, but I have met more like minded riders in the last 8 months than I have in 20 years on a mountain bike. In addition I realized how little I was really riding my bike. It also showed me a lot of new trails out of my garage with everything from simple rides to 25 mile 3.5K climbing rides. It also got my competitive juices flowing again and started racing Super D and Enduro.

By far my best year riding and I have had 30 of them starting at 12!

It must be Halloween, because a lot of threads are being resurrected from the dead...
