On my 5th SS frame and finally have one that does not require constant chain adjustment.:bang:

Some riders do not have problems with EBB’s but I am a heavier rider and mash. After every ride (over 15 miles) I would have to adjust the chain. #-o

This slider design has set screws that keep the sliders from moving. Once I got it dialed in the chain tension has remained the same.

That’s my story and I am sticking to it:beer:

Not disagreeing with you, I have EBB problems. I just don’t like the looks of sliders….love the clean look of the EBB. If I ever replace my One-9 it will be a ti frame split shell bike.

    It maybe me

but I will always choose function over fashion. I like the looks of my old SIR better than my current bike but.......my current bike is less fussy:).

A split shell maybe better than a set screw or wedge EBB:?:

I haven't seen the manual for your sliders but I would say the set screws are for adjusting the tension and should be backed out after the slider is bolted down. If the bolts slip the set screw will be stripped.

My Kona Unit sliders would slip until I bored my own holes for through-bolts with nuts.

when will that happen? next week? aren't you on your third ss frame in like 3 weeks?

Does EBB make your bottom bracket lower in general? or is it just the frame design?

What's wrong with good ol' slotted dropouts? Other than a simple chain tensioner, there is no funky hardware to deal with, and no areas for potential creaks. I've been using bikes with slotted dropouts for over 30 years without any problems relating to the design.

I have had split shell, wedge, and set screw EBBs and now that I have Paragon sliders on the Moots no more EBBs for me! The sliders are a true set it and forget it setup. EBBs are great(wedge type) but do need attention. I don't know about lighter riders but when you are over the 200lbs mark ALL EBBs move! So I'm with DeeZee on this one!

I put bigger diameter washers on my bolts of my Unit. No slippage so far.

but being able to adjust the BB height is a nice function with EBB's:)

I was removing and reinstalling wheels on my Sting-Ray as early as 7 or 8 (I repainted it when I was about 9 or 10), and I didn't have a problem - and I had to work with a coaster brake arm. How are slotted dropouts a challenge?

Depends on the design. They can be a problem adjusting or taking the wheel off with disk brakes.
