It is cheap because Iron Horse is out of business. RS Cycle is somehow related to Iron Horse.

This statement on the ad is very misleading and downright sleazy because there will never be any new Iron Horse bikes:

With news of a 10% to 20% increase in manufacturing costs for 2009 we urge our customers to take advantage of our lowest prices ever on 2007 and 2008 bikes while supplies last.

Dino Brown loves Iron Horse. I would probably buy one knowing that a.) its a great price b.) nice bike c.) how often do you break your frame in the first two years of ownership and you might have it covered. Just my 2 cents though.

One way to view it is similar to purchasing a used bike in that there won't be any warranty support if needed.

Since the new IH business model was unleashed, IH went out of business and is in bankruptcy proceeding. They are currently contesting how best to liquidate the existing inventory in the bankruptcy proceeding. There's a real possibility that RS won't have those bikes in the very near future so if you want it you better get it ASAP.

-Ask anyone who rides a dw-link bike (i.e. Ibis, Iron Horse, Pivot or Turner) the following question:
"Is the linkage ALL THAT?" Answer: YES!

-Ask anyone who has ridden one if the linkage is as good as advertised.. Answer will (most likely) be YES!

-While the fate of IH is a bit foggy (at this moment), the purchase may still be worth the "risk."

    -Would I buy a 2008 6 Point 4? :-k
I'm not a big fan of the parts specs.
(You "could" always upgrade parts with your savings)

-If you don't mind spending the extra money... The 2008 6 Point 6 is (in my opinion) a better value!

-A 6 Point frame can be had for $799

-If you want a second bike (to compliment your Trance), I believe you should give some consideration to the 7 Point. It's a bit heavy... Pretty easy to lighten up. It can be pedaled. Bargain basement price!

    With that said:
-No one knows the fate of the Iron Horse Bicycle Company
-Not sure when parts WILL become available
-Not sure how hard you plan on riding it
-Not sure if you feel like "risking" your money on a brand that is currently out of business

    Sincerely,
    DW's biggest fan :D

After further research online, I change my mind, I do not want one after all.
