    ....a rant by bozrag

When I ride I always slow down for pedestrians and sometimes stop if it isn't safe to pass. I always stop for horsies - and I almost always say hi and talk.

So today, I"m coming down Lynx, with my dinner bell ringing (rei's bear bell) - since I ended up going for a solo ride I'm having a fun flowy ride (not going too fast when I go solo) but still a pretty good clip.

Anyway I see a guy around a corner, it was close, but I slow down before I even get to the guy and end up stopping as he's pretty freaked out - but this guy is super bitter and although I say sorry and tell him I am always careful this guy will have none of it, and I get the "If I was deaf, I'd be dead now!"

Realizing there is nothing I could say or do and this guy just didn't like mountain bikers I continued on my way.

Just had to let it out, ok, I'm better now :)

Ahh, yes, the set-in-his-ways MTB hater. I met his brother one day at Chantry Flat. There was nothing I could do...no amount of kindness was going to change him into a reasonable person.

Just move on and let the hater stew in his own juices.

Oh yeah, and I haven't seen the Hater of Chantry Flat since that first time, and it's a good thing because if he's nasty again, I doubt I'll return his bitterness with a kind response.

 I am deaf, and even if he was.. we use our eyes way a lot. I have always stop for hikers/equestrian/other bikers that still climbing (why should i let them stop if theyre pedalin thier bike uphill?) Anyways being deaf is NO EXCUSE either, maybe he was just a cocky.

Why is it dog owners have to pick up dog poop but horse owner don't have to pick up horse poop:?:?

I ride on a trail near my house that gets used by horses. Why do they get all the rights? I'm OK with yielding to them (although if they can't control thier animal they shouldn't be out) but who made them kings? What's fair is fair right?

I guess its because the dogs poop does have something bad in it, the horses normally dont cause they eat hay which is mother nature plant and it just kind of break into like mowed grass peices. But yeah, i guess theyre too lazy get off saddle, bring a shovel to shove it off trail.
