Idyllwild 24hrs of Adrenaline

Just some prior notice - I've talked with a few folks about entering a few teams.

Interested peeps so far are: Jose, Jeff, Justin, Annie, Andy, Shleppy & Myself.

I was thinking we could either draw straws for teams, have a Geared Vs SS team or have a serious team and a fun team.

Any thoughts? Its in April so everyone should be on form from the CC/VQ training. We might have to book the entry soon though. I think its about $100 per person.

I'm in too. I've got tools, portable repair stand and a trainer I can bring to support the race.

 

Idyllwild, or Temecula, aren't they around the same time? Temecula is a fun course too, and you can do Idyllwild in the fall....or both. Usually they have the two a mere week apart though.

The race is 28th April. I was thinking we have 2 teams of 5 so we're almost there.

 

I really want iN but not sure if the 24 thing from Temecula is around the same time! Neil? newho if it's a week apart I thInk I can do it:bang: so Are we having a SS team VS the gear monkeys?:lol: LETS DOOO IT!!:bang:

note: Just checked the schedule for Temecula and the thing will be on the 21st!! Hmmmm that lives me with a nice week to rest right? WOO HOOOOO!!! yeah I'm IN!!

Nice - Geared Vs SS would be fun as its a SS friendly course. Although I know some want to do it just for fun so if some want to go for honours and others dont then we can have 2 teams like that. 2 randomly drawn teams would be fun too.

 

I want on the fun team too, you know, the slow--err, fun ones. I've only done one of these, so you guys will have to be patient with me :drunk:

Temecula is a go!...... and I have Sea Otter the week before that....let me know if you need another SSer for the 28th, I've never been on that course and wouldn't mind "pitching in" for 4 or 5 laps.....I am also doing the Breathless Agony Ride ala single fixie, I just built it up this morning, so I will be spent come May 6th !!!!
I am looking for massive suffering 4 weeks in a row!!!

 

12K on a fixie??? Dude, you are beyond SICK!

Just wondering though how you are set up for it? Gear ratio, bike weight, front brake or rear or both??? For that matter fill us in on everything. Man, I still can't get over this, 12 k on a fixie!!

 

Crap, I'm doing Sea Otter too, maybe I'll just skip Temecula.

I want to attempt a hill climb, but it all depends on how much sanity I lose this year.

 

We have 10 riders.

John would be 11 but hey we can enter 3 teams if we want. (Surely he isnt considering 24hrs Solo??!!!)

How about a vote on the teams:

1) Randomly drawn
2) SS Vs Gears
3) Fun team and Hardcore team

 

I'd like to be on the fun geared team.

John will more than likely be on his Surly SS, and I'll nominate him for whatever is open (heeheeh).

There MUST be more riders that would like to ride. Where are all the girls? Why not a girls team? I'm going to the Ladies Forum now!

Is the race the 28th of April? If so I'll be doing the Firestone Walker Classic.
