They let all the groups go in 2 minute intervals. I started in the front of my group, but dropped quickly to about 10th place. At this point I just told myself to race like I was out there all by myself. I quickly started passing them all up, once the climbing started. 10 miles into the race I was in first place and never saw anyone behind me again. I had a fall while climbing, when the guy in front of suddenly stopped. The fall left me with a very annoying charlie horse on my thigh, that would not let me stand up and pedal on climbs.

This club is stacked to the max with exceptional riders and you're right up there at the top with the best. WTG, Steve. I'm impressed. And it is nice for you to represent the shorted guys.

The course was awesome. It had a hike-a-bike in the begining, but was tons of fun. It really got hot up there, but most of the race was on single track where you had tree coverage.

They really suprised me with the amount of swag and prizes they were giving away. They gave away an 06 Intense spider frame ($1800), a 5 member ticket to their 24 hour race ($500), like 8 tickets to Nordac races, a weekend in Tahoe for the State finals (I won this, anyone want to buy it off me), and tons of shirts, tires, socks, tools, etc.

The pros all got cash prizes if they made it to the podium no age groups. The semi-pros and expert winners got cash prizes if they won their age. Then they had cash prizes for the fastest racers to finish(I won $50). There was 3 three climbing stages and the there was cash prizes for the first person to get to the stages. These cash prizes were for the men and woman. They gave a lot of money away in prizes
