Just finished building a project road bike. The frame looks like a Venge Pro, but it's actually an S-Works Venge. The frame and all the Dura-Ace bits are 2012.

I never favored road riding, but since I started to race mountain again, I felt I needed a road bike to train on and get faster.

I'm not sure of the weight. I'll update my post with that later. I figured I'd take it on its first ride tomorrow. I think I'll start from my house in Corona and take the Green River Bike Path to the beach and back.

    Thanks for looking.

Very nice! Been thinking about doing a road bike build myself. If you don't mind me asking, what do you think you have into it?

SICK bike! Looks very stealthy. Go ahead and do the SART as you'll need to get used to it but that is a climbing machine. I bet you're going to find road biking to be almost as much fun as mountain biking. That is a very expensive entry level bike though, but WTH, go big or go home!

That's a 4-hour century machine...throw a couple o' lightweight aerobars on the front and you're ready to start training for those double c's and 12-hour mtb races

Sweet, and built for the long ride with the C50 wheels...I still favor the aluminum track clinchers over the pure carbon fiber for braking, and there's not much of a weight penalty. I'd venture that bike comes in around 15 pounds.

Interesting, a $10,000 road bike to "train" on, would like to see what you'd buy if you decided to race on the road. Might want to look at getting a proper fitting, a nose down saddle is a good indication of a bike that's not fit correctly.

I got 11th out of 20 something in the sport 30-39 class. I felt good at the beginning and then just went down hill by the end of the first lap.

Nice! A great "cross trainer" I currently have a Trek Madone 5.5 Pro but I've been drooling over the new Cervelo S-5... Road work totally helps with the cardio conditioning. My "other ride" A full carbon/sram XX equipped Santa Cruz Tallboy. A great road ride starts at Bill barber park (corner of Harvard & Barranca) (newport back bay) and up San Joaquin Hills road to Newport Coast road down to coast hwy, then back up Newport Coast rd and back to park. Great ride with challenging climbing.

I've been mapping a route that includes flats and hills. I think I'm going to try this route tomorrow or Tuesday: Start from my house off of Schleisman/Archibald in Corona. Ride to the Green River Bike Path. Take the bike path to Imperial Highway. Head south on Imperial Hwy. to go up and over Cannon. Head east on Santiago Cyn. to Jamboree. South on Jamboree to Portola. Hop on the bike trail off of Portola and ride to Back Bay. Now I might turn around and ride back the same way or ride to Huntington and ride the path back to my sisters house in Orange. I don't think I can make it all the way home just yet. We'll see. I'm not sure what mileage is. I don't even want to think about it.
