I've got a Road Atlas with me and I've looked at the ACA Southern Tier map (I don't have it though).

I've tried to play it by ear as much s possible and just avoid as much bad weather as possible.

The one thing I know after doing this route is that now I really want to do the Pacific Coast route. It just seems like it would be very enjoyable with easy camping and services along the way.

The South (everything east of Austin) is just very trying as far as services being closed, campground availability, etc...

It's much easier out west where there is a lot of National Forest, BLM and other public land.

Way to go Eric! I've been following the journal and have been living vicariously through it - as have others.

What's the dog encounter count up to now?

I've been reading your journal on CrazyGuy every few days - even my son is now checking in on your travels.

I hope all of your stops are as nice as Oberlin. Great job!

Wow...!! As everyone has already said.....amazing, awesome, epic, inspiring & etc....just great stuff!

Seriously, as OMR said, I think you should consider putting all this down in a book, because it's a pretty amazing journey.

Nice work, Eric. Safe travels on the trip back!!

I really haven't seen any since back around Tallahassee.

    Maybe the gators got them?

I still haven't had a single one that I thought would bite me.

    Simply amazing and truely inspiring.

The last couple of nights I have read your journal as well as a few other tourer's. I'm addicted.

I'm not brave enough for a cross country tour nor do I have the time and money for it now, but something smaller in distance is definitely feasible in the near future. I've wanted to do something like this for a while but really didn't know where to look or how to get started. But now a plethora of information had just been dumped into my lap(top).

Thank you for the inspiration and your website in helping me realize some goals and possibly cross out a few items on my bucketlist.
