    Hello all,
Im pretty new to the site, but have been in this sport (cycling, that is) forever. Started riding a bike at five years old and my mom states that I never been off since.
I started BMX in 1973, then got involved in motocross in the late seventies. I heard about mountain biking in 1982, when I read that the pro motocross racers of the time used mountain bikes as training. I was very interested and did a little research, I bought my first mountain bike (a Ross) soon after. I loved the sport so much that in 1985, I sold all my motorcycles and started riding and racing every chance I got, although MTB racing was very hard to find back then. I soon also got into road racing.
I since have raced road, downhill, singlespeed, tandem, cyclocross and I will shortly be taking up BMX again to race with my 7 year old son.

I have made cycling my career when I started Hurricane Components back in 1996, but since have sold the company. I am in the process of starting a mostly online bikeshop which will deal mostly in the niche markets.
I have traveled the country for races and expos and have meet some really great people, people in which I feel that I need to stay inside the loop with.

Anyway, when you wake up from boredom from my intro, this is a great site and I will monitor and post frequently.
    Jeff

Welcome from Covina. It's always fun to hear from people that have been in the sport for a while.

My favorite line in your post.
Always looking for some more guys to run in the old farts cruiser class, and 20", if you're so inclined...
What would be your local track?

    JCW,
    thanks!
It looks like Perris will be our local track. Im looking for a 24" cruiser and getting my sons Intense built up, then we're going. We will do a clinic of two, since he has never raced, and I have'nt raced BMX since the late 70's.
Hope to see you out there

Cool! Heyyy I think I met you on a hot shuttle bus once & we had a converastion about the future of suspension and manufacturing in the bike biz with the Risse guys.
