A little past halfway up Ernie Maxwell we saw the A group coming down, I missed the first few (Sanjay, Maxwell, etc) but was able to snap a few of whoever was left from that group....

Then coming down was too much fun so i didn't get many pics but I managed to get Sheclimbs, dirtvert, and Dstepper...

Then it happened, some stupid hike a bike. I brought up the rear with Dean, Nan and Jay who are lying through those smiles...

then i'm not sure what trails we came down next, but they were a blast and worth the killer hike. OMR making it look hard...

At the bottom is where I followed Liz and Gene and after another climb, Liz was off on her ways, about what i forget, but a picture of her had to be taken...

then I followed Liz and Gene with a few others back to camp...

and so ended my ride.

I wish I ran into Craig and Gene as I had infractions, time-outs and suspensions signed, sealed and ready to be delivered to them. ;)

Thanks for a great time everyone, I had a blast even though I was in a little over my head with the A group and cause you guys to wait for me. I still had a great time despite a few falls and cramps settling in towards the last big climb. All the downhill trails were a super sweet and a blast. Martin and Andy and all those SS, you guys rock and I still don't comprehend how you can climb without gears...got to go practice some more climbing before the next big ride!

To the great STR group. Hello to all the people I met and don't remember their names. I had an excellent time with a great group of people. Looking forward to next time at Hurkey and of course Downieville later on this year.

Tim - The root roller was a breeze, I'm glad you man'd up and did it. You are welcome for the burger on Sat night. Thanks for the Trade Winds. hmm good.

John224 aka Barbie - Next time bring more to eat. No more moochie my stuff. Glad you made it out and we were able to destroy you. Are you ever going to go riding with me again?

Maverick was a little beat up after doing the 20+ miles we did on Saturday. He slept most of the day on Sunday and now ready to go do another ride. He is a stud!

Liz - "This is THE ONE!" I am not sure who's going to believe you on the next ride. I didn't say a word until we got on top of that climb. Doing a little extra credit could not have been easier, especially since we all knew who we were going to point the finger at. :)

Sorry it took me so long to post about the camp out. Kind of busy lately.

My plan was to leave early and get there so i can do a lap, but I didn't get off work til about 10am. I didn't arrive till about 5pm and there were plenty of STR already there. After setting up camp, we huddled by the fire as it was freezing cold and a bit windy.

Once we reached the Keen Camp Summit, we re-grouped a bit. There were so many of us, we counted about 45 riders and not all have arrived yet.

By the time we got to Ernie Maxwell and started our climb, the A group was coming down. Sanjay and Maxwell were the first riders we saw.

    IMG_3383.jpg

Then they came down in groves.

On Sunday, as the other went to ride Ramona trail. Gregg, Art, Tim and I went on the 24 hr course but mixed in some extra credit

    Our 4 man group
    IMG_3410.jpg

Here's Art finding some fun stuff to roll
    IMG_3411.jpg

This trail was a lot of fun, but it seems it would be better that other direction, but you would have to climb the fire rd a bit to get there.
    IMG_3412.jpg
    IMG_3413.jpg
    IMG_3414.jpg

After we got back, everyone was long gone. After earting something and having a cold beer with Tim, I went out on another lap. I decided to stay another night and ride Monday so I was in no hurry. Later, I settled in and enjoyed the rest of the night. I'll do a seperate RR for that as I explored a bit more. Can't wait til next year!
