A few downed trees, water crossings and ruts but other than that, fine.

Anyone interested in riding the course this weekend? I can't make the 9th or 10th (or the campout : ( ), but I would like to try and preride the course. I haven't ever ridden up there before.

Simon rode it yesterday and said it was a mess. Lots of water in all the streams, tons of ruts and generally a mess.

  6. rode 34 miles in may valley and hurkey creek today............didnt see a "mess" anywhere maybe the "mess" was on middle southridge? thats the only one i missed. the few trees make it that more adventureus, must hop em quick, keep the mtn lions guessing! nothing like water crossings on a hot day! couldnt of asked for a better day, a better place to live, and most of all,............................... a better place to RIDE!

The water was pretty deep on the junction at the bottom of Snakeskin and Cahuia Cutoff on Sunday and Coyote Run was pretty badly rutted out and soft. Plus it was damn cold, so water crossings on a cold day were not as nice as on a hot one. Still was snow on Woodpile. Probably dried out by now and most snow melted off, as Idyllwild92549 says. Mid-Southridge has a downed tree and snow. The downed tree's days are numbered though.
Got to agree on the great place to live and ride:clap:.

I rode out at Hurkey today. The trails seemed to be in pretty good condition overall. A few mud puddles and Hurkey Creek climb was touch and go, hard to get a rhythm going on the climb with the washouts. The exfoliator was painful on my rigid stumpjumper. Overall, pretty nice. I am not going to race on my small block 8s though, they were slipping everywhere.
