I just thought it was funny that the bike is fine until he puts it on a scale. Personally, I like the ignorance is bliss approach.

    One9 - 24.5
    RFX - 33.5
    Highline - 40
    DHR - 38

I thought the One9 would come in a bit lighter but it doesn't bug me to much I know I've got some heavy-ish parts on it. Not going to dump any more $$ into it as it's the bike I ride the least.

Knowing that it weighs as much as it does right now means that there's so much more potential for it! I ride XC and love to climb and ride long distances. Knowing that there's the possibility of loosing 5-10lbs means I can climb that much fast and ride that much longer! :-k

Depends if I scrape off the crusted mud:-k. Less than it used to but am building heavier wheels, also tend to weigh it with full water bottle, seat bag, and pump attached think it was 32.5

It all really depends on your riding. I do a LOT of climbing, enough that even the lightest of bikes wouldn't matter. However, I couldn't imagine climbing some of my routes with a tank between my legs.

And I really don't care what my bike 'looks' like, it's all about how it performs. Bikes are not like girlfriends. Girlfriends take and take, bikes give and give...

My Ells Epi, right at 28lbs.

    Hey Minh

What's your component list? Put it up and we can tell you where to shave the weight. Most likely your wheels and tires are the anchors.

Don't forget post, saddle and handle bars all can add up.

BTW you are beginning to slide down a very slippery slope!

I look at this issue in terms of percentages.

Say my bike weighs 30 lbs. I weigh 160 w/gear. Total weight of 190 lbs.

If I shave 5 lbs off my bike, that's about 2.6% of total weight. In contrast, this would require 50-75% of a month's take home pay, at least. Personally, not worth it. I'll ride what I have until it breaks, then replace it with something a little better and a little lighter.

Never been on a long ride where I had to stop because my bike was too heavy.

Fat and pretty are mutually exclusive....unless you're a chubby chaser.

I didn't say fat....it just seems so many people are obsessed with the number on the gram scale. I personally doubt the OPs performance would go up drastiscally at all if he shaved a few pounds off the bike. You are more apt to make more significant performance gains by getting in the gym and/or riding more. Just my opinion....

2002 Specialized Enduro FSR, about 32 pounds I think. When I replaced the fork that took about a pound off, and got rid of the slime maybe another pound or so. I need to reweigh it.
