It's the intersection of Trabuco Creek Road and S19 (Live Oak Canyon Road). Just east of the red star (Trabuco Oaks Steakhouse).

There's a small concrete bridge and there you'll see a large turn-off into the dirt. Can't miss it.

If you start climbing up out of the canyon toward RSM, you've gone too far east; if you pass O'Neill Park, you've gone too far west.

Can we park anywhere near there (S19 and Trabuco Oaks) without an adventure pass and then grab a friendly STR shuttle to the trailhead? I've never been to that area - only as far as Black Star. Thx - Donny

Join us, Donny. Far as I know you're good to park there. At the HJ trailhead you do need an Adventure Pass or they will ticket.

I do not think that area is part of the CNF. You should be good:)

No Adv Pass req'd at that point. I think it does ask for one after the second creek crossing; I recall seeing a sign.

See you guys in the AM!

So, here's what you guy's are looking at for the drive in.......

There are a few of these, and we made it through by keeping off to the side, in my Ford Escape.

There is a very slight chance I may show up, just to ride HJ to Main Divide and back.

We did a decent ride today, and I'm pretty worked.

    Have fun out there!!

How deep is that big puddle? Does it get any deeper down the road? :?:

P.S. Thanks for the heads-up.

I'm guessing at least 8" Those little 2 stripes going up the other side look like tire tracks for scale. Doesn't look like any room to go around.

Those pools are usually the worst/deepest on the whole road. The only other thing that might get you wet are the creek crossings if there's a lot of water.

I'm gonna say that these were a couple of feet deep in the middle. Those are truck tracks you see going up the other side.
We stayed to the right of this one.
And these weren't the biggest ones. But you could pass by staying off to the side. We drove in and out today with no problems.
    The creek crossing were minimal.

Here's my post on our ride today. You'll figure out why I'm probably NOT gonna make it tomorrow.8-[

Hopefully someone sees this before you guys leave. If someone has a bleed kit for Hayes 9's brakes can you bring it with you guys? My rear brake is being ghey and hopefully I can get that puppy bled at the trail head if you guys are good at last minute fixes. If not then I guess I'm ready with only front brake. Going to sleep now. See you guys in like 6 hour :)
