Good to hear! The timing of my other bulb blowing tonight was just lucky coincidence.... (or unlucky, but still coincidence). :)

i had my trinewt out at black star tonight, even on the low setting it's brighter than most of the other lights i saw. it was the first time I used it on my helmet too, and I like it a whole lot more than mounting on the handlebars.

super bright and a 7 hour run time in low mode (still bright enough for most everything) makes me real happy.

Exactly!! I always go to turn it down to the low setting on climbs because I'm used to having to conserve like I did with my halogens. But at 3 1/2 hours on high I always just end up leaving it.

Yeah I have a TriNewt as well, and it's awesome. Wear that on my helmet, and I have a MiNewt x2 Dual for my handlebars. I need to use them more!!!

Wow, that must be lot of light!! I thought about getting the MiNewt X2 dual as well, just because I can get a good price on it.

i hear you on the EP. we actually ended up getting better than EP + shipping prices through my LBS because of a preorder deal that niterider did for its dealers.

not telling what I paid though.

I was just going to say that. You can MTB down the 405 and tell a bimmer to move the hell out of the way with that light.

I am building it according to this design with a few minor modifications.

I could be wrong but I do believe that Mountian Bike Action did a review on this light and gave 2 star out of 5.

Still waiting on the damn parts to get here from Digikey. I have started soldering the LEDs that I got from Future Electronics. The Digikey parts should be here today and I hope to finish the light tonight. No doubt I will screw something up, so I will hope to have it running by tomorrow for Fully or this weekend.

It depends on what kind of rechargeable batteries you use. To keep it simple and cheap, I am using 8 NiMH rechargeables at 2650 mAh. This should give me at least 2 hours on high power. We'll see once it is built.

For a bit more money and for lighter weight, I could go to Li-Ion batteries or step up to larger cells with higher mAh ratings for longer run time. I am putting connectors on the battery to driver interface so I can play around with different batteries without having to solder new wires each time.

BrewMaster, are you going to put the LEDs in any type of housing?
