Moving to Orange County next spring (Tustin / Orange Area). Came across your site and thought I would introduce myself. I currently live on the east coast and I'm looking forward to riding some stuff on the west coast. I've been poking around investigating some trails and it looks like great stuff.

I'm really into racing, endurance racing mostly. I do 12/24 hours solo on my singlespeed and I'm also into 100 milers (singlespeed). I'm starting to get it to multiple stage races too. Just did La Ruta (single speed of course :)) I guess you can tell I'm in single speed riding. It's all I do anymore. I just got into the 29er thing too. I currently ride a Vassago jabberwocky but I'll soon be getting an IF. All rigid of course. Looking to test my skills on some of the trails out there. I really like rocky stuff on it.

I've seen some pictures of the trails out there and I'm looking forward to grunting up some of those mountains. We don't have much elevation out this way. I'm also into cross racing a little bit. Just converted mine over to a fix gear and it's a blast. Not sure how big a cross seen you guys have out that way. Road ride a little bit. It's actually the last bike I have with gears. Looking at getting a fixie :)

It's a small. Right now it'd be a little tough since I'm in Virginia at the moment :) Hope to be out that way in the spring.

Here's some endurance events for you here in Socal.

12 hours of Temecula Series in Jan, June, Nov.
    http://www.12hrsoftemecula.com/

24 hours of Adrenaline in Idyllwild, in April, Sept.
    http://www.24hoursofadrenalin.com/t...ontentID=95409354-7e90-e2a3-b7da-f8b4c28dc25d

You may also want to check out the Warrior's Society Events. The Counting Coup and the Vision Quest are already sold out, but you might want to get on the waitlist for those. The Traverse in May is almost sold out last I heard. But you should register if you think you'll be here.

    http://www.warriorssociety.org/

And of course we're within driving road trip distance to do Old Pueblo, Moab, and Laguna Seca too.

Cross your fingers, maybe the burn areas in the Cleveland Nat'l forest will reopen sometime in 2008. It's going to be open for the Warrior's Society events, but lots of it is closed right now due to fire damage. Don't worry though, lots of good places to ride still in the Cleveland NF and other places here.

    Welcome.

    Carl
