Hi from Ladera Ranch

Hey all,

New Guy here, name is Brian. New to the mtb scene. Spent the last 20 years on a bmx bike and finally decided to get an FS rig. I went with a used gt because it was a good value, but im already thinking about my next bike! If anyone is in the area and wants to hit the trails(and don't mind waiting for the new Guy to keep up) let me know, looking to learn all I can! :beer:

Note- I also work across the street from whiting ranch- poor me! Can't wait for the time change.

There's a good group of us laderans here...there's a group that goes on regular Tuesday night rides. If you want to explore the ladera trails, I go with a small group Sunday mornings around 8.

I've also been known to go on night rides on the dog trails around 10 pm after I put the kids to sleep. ;-)

 

Welcome from a Ladera-for-now-resident. Happy to roll out any day/night of the week if you're looking for a little company. Second the suggestion on Tuesday night rides. It's a good & fun group with some tacos to wrap up the night.

 

Welcome to another really fun way to ride a bike! I'm in Ladera too and have raced BMX off and on all my life (now 41). Most of my MTB rides are with a bunch of former BMXs pros who still love riding dirt. Maybe we can hook up for a ride!

Melster, where do you guys meet on Sunday mornings? I only know the real basics around Ladera, but would love to discover more.

 

Infamous: lately we've been meeting at Wagsdale. That's a perfect jumping off point. Good place to meet if you're planning on going down the Arroyo or following the O'Neill ridge or even just to go up the dog trails to Covenant Hills.

Plenty of good folks from LR here. Weekday 5am rides for me whenever I can, preferably on the single speed. I live a hop skip and a jump away from Melster. We'll try to hook up for a ride someday.

Welcome - I am in Las Flores and ride a regular Ladera loop. I will probably begin doing the Tuesday Ladera ride once daylight savings time kicks in. I am slow, at least on the climbs, so you will probably be waiting on me.

We're you on the dirt trails Thursday night? I was on a walk with my daughter on the trail off of Sienna, just across from Ladera Elementary, and someone cruised by on a MTB with a headlamp and bar-mounted light. I almost asked "are you one of the STR guys?!" Probably someone from here anyway!

 

I didn't ride last night...had some coding to do. If it was ~10PM Tuesday, it would've been me on the way to Wagsdale.

Simon, if you want to do a 5AM ride again, let me know! I kinda miss opening the garage at 5:30 and hoping you weren't going to show up so I could crawl back into bed!

 

Hi, I live in Ladera, too. If it doesn't rain tonight (highly unlikely unfortunately) I am planning on riding the local trails early tomorrow morning (leave 7-7:30 or so). Ladera Ridge, Waterworks, etc. If any of you are interested we can meet in the parking lot Chaparral Elementary.

 

Glad to see all the fellow laderians of whoville!

Welcome, I ride every Thursday at Cox park 6:00 PM. We try to get in a couple hour ride, then food and drink. You are welcome to attend.

 

Any of u guys on the dog trail behind wagsdale around 730 this AM? I was in a group of 3 riders.
