Hwy 38 is closed but if you hve 4 wd and chains they'll let you by. I still plan on meeting in the morning. We'll see how it goes.

There are currently chains required above Angelus Oaks. We could ride from there up to South fork if the chain requirement is still in effect and people can't get cars through. If there are enough vehicles with 4wd and/or chains to get up to South Fork in the morning, hopefully by the afternoon the chain requirements will be lifted so that people can pick up their cars. I'll be there and have 4wd, but can only take three people and three bikes (including driver).

How will a few inches of snow affect the extra credit boy scout SD section?

Either way, I'm looking forward to it!

Right now there is apparently about 6 inches of snow at the Boy Scout Camp and more than that at South Fork. The organizers just had a meeting to discuss options and have a few ideas for what to do for the ride in the event we cannot get to South Fork. It is all going to depend on how much snow is up there at 8am tomorrow morning.

I want to set everyone's expectations for the ride:
If there is too much snow to drive past Angelus Oaks we will likely do a variation of the Post Office loop/Lower SART and include some of the riding across the wash at Crafton Hills. Unfortunately this would mean the extra credit at the boy scout camp would not be included. It is all going to depend on the conditions tomorrow morning. We decided that we can probably take a group of this size in a little bit of snow, but anything over 3-4 inches probably is not safe (mostly due to some of the exposure on the trail).

Hope this helps, I really hope that everyone makes it out tomorrow and is ready for an adventure.

I don't mind riding that but it will put additional time into the day. Kanga maybe I could hit you up for a ride?

Oh man, hopefully that video doesn't scare too many people off. It looks like it's going to be an adventure tomorrow.

I have one passenger already, but don't yet have a shuttle pickup arranged to go back and get my car, or a driver to bring the car back. I'll figure it out, even if I have to ride back up. Since weather is becoming the biggest factor, we'll all have to sort it out in the morning.

I was trying to get my wife to shuttle and then have my daughter pick her up but it is not working out. I can drive up. I am just trying to figure out if I should drive my rear wheel drive car or my wifes front wheel drive with chains.

I think I will take my widest car. It has chains and can take 2 more bikes. One more inside but that would mean2 less people
