Over the past few years fs bikes seem to have taken over the trails. I hardly ever see any ht on the trails anymore. Who here still rides them activity (as oppose to having one sitting in the garage collecting dust).

i ride a fuji hardtail but if anyone were to donate a full squish frame to a poor veteran then i would gladly take it! (lord knows my back could use it) it seems other than extreme weight weenies. im not sure why anyone would choose a hard tail over full suspension... other than money, weight, or the single speed warriors out there.

    I still have a few HT's. A SS 29er and a geared lightweight 26er. I seem to be riding the HT 26er lately. I also have a 5-spot. I am having a custom 26er SS made now.

I think a lot of people on HT's will either be SS or have multiple bikes. FS would seem to be popular for those who only have one bike...

i guess i should've specified 26'' multispeed hardtails. I know there's a lot of 29ner ht and ss are out there.

but even 29ners and ss, keep them coming, still curious as to how many ht there are in general on here.

I have two and they are both 29ers. One rigid SS and one geared with a squishy fork.

    All I ride is a hardtail, straight 26...no 29er crap......fs is for weenies!!!!....j/k
But I do ride the crap out of that thing. I gotta admit it was a little rough on rock-it but we made it down. I take it to all the same spots fs bikes go...just cant go as fast as the fear of getting bucked off (lack of rear suspension) overwhelms me at times. She gets the job done.

+1 on the donation of a fs frame to this Marine Corp veteran. Its worth a shot.

That would be me! Intense 5.5. Even if I owned multiple bikes, I wouldn't have time to ride them all.

Come to any of the US Cup or Socal State Series races and you'll see a ton of folks on Specialized Stumjumper S-Works Carbon Hardtails. Nothing can beat a HT for climbing and acceleration so alot of racers still use them. MTB Action also reviewed the latest Stumpy HT in its current edition.

I just had a HT 29er SS built and I love it. Its a Bianchi SOK and this fall I will convert it to geared to race in the Intercollegiate series.

I guess I'm in between a HT and FS with ST (Soft Tail)

I have paired down my bike collection to a my Salsa Dos Niner (29er) Soft tail.
In the past few years I've had several 29er hard tails (Niner SIR 9, Salsa El Mariachi).

The last 26er I had was a Spechy Enduro (FS) around 4 years ago.
