I finally got the video for the Hangover Trail in Sedona from a couple of weeks ago completed. It was pretty interesting to look at the video footage of my spill over the edge. Man, things I remembered happening so slowly "in the moment" went by in the blink of an eye. As with all videos, things are steeper than look, but I did not realize just how exposed some of the sections were until reviewing the footage.

    Ahh, enough yapping.

Thanks Bill. I got to get me some of that. We did not get to ride it during our last trip, it was iced over New Years. So on my short list.

Nice death grip on the grass my friend. I have thought about keeping some rope in my pack for some rides that maybe one of them.

Bill by chance did you take your GPS with you?

    Dear MTBBill,

Have not of yet had the pleasure of making your acquaintance, but events as depicted in your most recent video have convinced me I should do so sooner rather than later. Please contact me at your earliest convenience--preferably prior to your next ride.

    Sincerely,

    Ladd Jasper

    ;)

Looks like a great time. Glad all ended well.

Very nice vid. That exposure does look a bit scary, as did the near plunge to the bottom.

Wow, that's potentially a hairball fall. Nice catch on the grass. Not sure how that kept you up though. Must be some deep rooted ground cover. Regardless, glad it kept you up.
Very nice video. Gotta love the deep based Wall track. I especially like how you blended (maybe by accident) the helicopter section while you were being rescued by your pals...very fitting! Thanks for the link and the post!

What was even scarier was the verbal beat down lecture I got from my wife when she saw the video.:rolleyes:

Nope, I had a ton of crap with me already so I left back at the condo.

It was on purpose. I wanted to use those three tracks for years, but could never find footage that it would work with. The helicopter sounds was actually a problem until I saw how the wind was blowing the grass around. It all clicked after that.

There is a ton of trails in Sedona that are not anythng like that one.

Duuuhh, to late already went on a ride today. I'll look you up for sure.

I'll be (damned if I know) How I missed this. Sedona is one of my favorite places to ride. I love it there. But that trail is different from almost everything I've rode there. That exposure is about 5 levels higher then I like to ride. Very seldom do I ever get a sense of how dangerous a trail can be on video but not on this one! Easily a 8.2 on the pucker scale in some places.

    Nice grab Bill.

damn! you almost made it to the next episode of "Seconds from Disaster"! that would have been a longer fall compared to the other MTB accident they featured.

Glad you're OK! keep filming :bang:

Nice video Bill, you have to love that trail. I just got back from Sedona for the first time last week and that was the first trail I rode!

Chewy from Bike and bean took me out and all I can say is that is by far the best trail I have ever ridden. Completly awe inspiring! I have some pics I ll download when I have time.

    Thanks again for the vid
