I hear ya.. vid length and music I agree as well, was just trying to be constructive too.. there are a few spots along that ridge where that OTB wouldn't have ended nearly as well as it did but I honestly couldn't tell if he was going too slow thru that section but maybe he was. I don't ride tubeless so I couldn't make any educated response about the tire pressure comments, maybe that's a factor too..

 

to the OP... Glad you walked away from that OTB with only minor trouble.

To all thanks for the comments constructive or not. Lets take it for what it is a Gopro video of some guys having fun and enjoying what we all love best. There's a lot of testosterone in these forums and that's ok I just don't appreciate when some try to vocalize everything and call it constructive.

True 4-5 minutes is good but I always like to start with a long version first and then chop it down from there it makes things easier at least for me. Being married each time I'm on the PC fooling around I get the stinkeye from the boss.

 

Give the chest mount on the gopro a shot, It's pretty good

Next time around I am going to bomb thru it like a madman. I really think I had too much air for tubeless I usually run about 25 in the front going downhill. Very uncanny only the trail will know what reall happened.

 

If you're going to bomb it like a madman (outrunning ghosts?), have cameras pointing from both directions. Couple things to keep in mind are that there are some punji-stick stumps lurking in the brush, and at least one boulder on the side of the trail you'll want to avoid.

Tire pressure might not be too much of a factor, unless it's too low. I took that section at full speed last night with 50 lbs. front and rear with no traction issues. There's a dip in the LZ that might have thrown you off, or fatigue, distraction, inexperience.. who knows? Maybe you were looking over your shoulder to see if one of those cute girls was chasing you. :-k

 

Video's do not show pitch very well. The trail looked straight, and did not look weathered or washed out. I have had a few times when the trail just sucks me up for no reason at all. I find rock hard tires keep the line better than soft ones. But that is me, I ride a lot of rock, bedrock, screed rock, trails with steamers floating down the hardpack. I want a hard tire so I can dictate the line, when running soft the rocks dictate to me. I only ride at night, and no night does not make a difference except there will be nobody behind you to raise the bike, and it gets really dark when your lights are pointed at the sky, really dark.
