That was a bad section to go down. Good thing Joe was behind you, both you and the bike were off the trail. No one would have known you crashed. Those riders we passed didn't even know you were down there when they rode by.

As a monday morning quarterback / back seat rider... pretty clear you bounced of the inside of the trail which bounced you out and over... agree with other a little more speed and or more relaxed / loose style through those straight sections would probably keep you straight,. If you are running tubless, and you have a 2.2 / 2.3 front tire and don't weigh 200+ LBS you should probably be riding 30lbs psi or so in the front...

About falling off those ledges...I try not to think about it or more importunately look at it, the most experienced riders taught me to stay focused down the line and the bike will follow...you look over that edge...you going to meet it.

All my opinions.... take em for what the cost yah :)

Glad you are alright though... that was a nasty fall.

    My humble opinion:

    1. Video is too long.
    2. Music sucks.
    3. The crash was the result of the rider running out of skill.

This is the internet. Nobody watches a 15 minute video. Glad you're OK. Go faster (didn't have the patience to see the video, but I trust the opinions of those who did).

Yeah! I love seeing all the young Cougars out on the trail! That's why I like riding Whiting on friday & saturday mornings, lots of trail angels out and about there nearly every time.

Thanks for posting. I for me any crash you can laugh with your friends with isn't too bad. I took a spill off a similar section of trail and ended up grabbing a handful of weeds with one arm while holding my bike with the other.. But I'll admit it was my poor skills in my crash...

I don't think I like the handlebar mount--made it look like you were weaving around like a drunk. Glad you're ok. I just got a GoPro for Christmas; my first couple videos I made the mistake of not editing enough out and they were too long / boring. Now I try to keep them to one song / segment and just cut the rest out. You can keep it in case you want to edit another version differently, but seems like 4-5 minutes max is good.

flat and straight, were you peddling? Uncanny. I bet you cannot do that again. I could see no reason for the sudden OTB. Perhaps the place is haunted.
    Happy trails

im glad you are ok. that looked like a scary place to crash, not too much room for errors on the luge.

Good description. I'll definitely run lower next time. Sometimes it happens when you least expect it.

Imagine if it happened night riding. Haha. At least I live to ride another day. You're right every forum has Haters. I didn't know there were ISO standards to follow for music and duration. Trying to keep up with you on that niner was quite an ordeal. :)

At least you didn't go off near the top where there's no brush to catch you..

Looks like you got in trouble on those small drops? If so, follow bvader's advice and keep your eyes and tires pointed straight down the trail. Also stay balanced and make sure not to land on your front tire. Either that or roll them slowly. Eventually you may feel comfortable enough to take that stretch at speed and pre-jump the drops..

Yes. You are required to use "Sail" by Awolnation in at least 50% of your videos.

Whenever I'm bombing down the Luge, especially with my 8 yr old doing his best to bomb down it right in front of me, I always think of the fact that there aren't too many good spots to go down hard.. thanks for posting and glad you're ok. I am honestly surprised at some of the responses.. seems like you're getting beat up by some folks for an OTB that could've been disastrous, and thankfully was not. I agree speed is your friend thru most technical sections of trails, but we've all gone down hard doing what we thought was right, until out of nowhere it's too late and we're OTB.. once again very glad to see this didn't end up worse..

Nobody's beating up on him for his riding. People are critiquing the length of the video and the choice of music. Is it too long? Does the music suck? Completely subjective opinions.

Some people have also said that maybe going too slow contributed to the crash. The OP disagrees. Does going too slow contribute to crashing? Absolutely. Is the OP going too slow in the video? Maybe.

Is Hatorade being served up in this thread? Maybe a little, but it goes both ways. Some people take criticism in a good way, and some people don't. I'm guessing the OP's not one who takes constructive criticism well. So, let's agree to disagree. You go on keeping on, and I just won't watch his videos. Win win situation. :)

Adding "my humble opinions", doesn't make these offensive comments "contructive criticisms". OP simply wants to share his crash video and he gets all these rude comments in return from some here. Truly a buzz killer.
