Race Report Golden State Race Oct 09-10 2010

HOT day. Put in a half a$$ practice then took some pics.

Sick shots.

It was way to hot today and I was just standing still. When I left at 4ish it was still 95 degrees out. Who knows what it was at 1 or 2 in the heat of the day.

Way to go everyone who braved the heat to race this weekend!:bang::clap:

I shot XC, Super D, 4X and DH on Sunday.

My memory card for Saturday 'broke' and I cant see any pictures on my camera or computer. Im in the process of recovering the images. I think its working but I will never know if I have them all. Sorry.

Working on DH in the meantime.

Planning on having most things online by the morning. But who knows. Stay tuned for pictures...

 

I'm gonna go ahead and say that that jump is the only good part of that course. that is all.

actually, it isn't but whatever. Nice pics slickshoe.

I showed up today to do a really lazy job of racing. slept in too long, got to fontana late, got 2 crummy practice runs (after not being there yesterday), and had a lame race run. rode like a hack, casing jumps, blowing turns, riding with one foot. the headwind on the wall, for lack of a less punny word, blew. somehow I still ended up with 9th of 21 in expert, so that's kinda cool.

and as usual for fontana, it's great to get out and just hang out with all of the cool people. That's what racing there is all about. not necessarily the race itself, but kickin' it with friends and having a cold (or occasionally warm) beer.

oh, and congrats to all of the other people who had good finishes. I know there were a few good podium spots taken by STR folks

R.R. report for me was baking in the sun taking pics of some fast racers! My 12 year old crashed twice in his run, once right before the saddle and had to hab up it But he finished the race with a smile and took the overall. Good times!
